Like the Bakeneko, Rakkineko are youkai born of domesticated felines. However, unlike the bakeneko-- who bring misfortune and are seen as a disgrace-- the Rakkineko are cats that bring good fortune to those that earn their favour, and also misfortune to those that slight them. Because of this, most rakkineko live lush lives with freedom to go wherever they wish without fear of being hunted. It is unclear as to how Rakkineko are born, but they are rare and extremely powerful.

Juura herself is a rakkineko like any other, though she has never encountered another of her kind thusfar. When she was born again, she held no memories of her past life, but gained knowledge of everything that she had become. She wandered for days before happening upon a human village. She told them what she was and immediately was given the lap of luxury. In turn, she gave them her favour.
