Juni

Even in a world full of monsterfolk and the supernatural, it should be no surprise that there's a lot of discrimination. There's always people who hate anyone and everyone who's different, after all. What might be most surprising, though, is that half-breeds can be the worst-off of them all. In a world where things are black and white, anything gray can be shunned by both.

Of course, that might not be why Juni was orphaned. Her parents could be dead, after all, or she could have been kidnapped, and her kidnapper died, or any of many other, equally unsavory options. The point is, she never knew her family, and she had a hard time, growing up. It's not easy, being a half-kitsune. If she's lucky, she may come into another tail or two, but that'd probably be the most she has to hope for. She'll never be a nine-tail(or at least, so she thinks. No one really knows!).

For now, though, she gets by. If nothing else, even as weird as she is, she's pretty cute, and that seems to work on people of both societies. And, well, she's got more than just looks going for her!

You see, at a young age, Juni learned that she was different from most people in more ways than just being a half-kitsune. As it happens, she has a particularly significant spiritual presence, and gift. In old days, this would be more important, but even now there's uses for such things. After all, not everyone can see and hear spirits! Mediums are still quite rare, and apparently, they might just be a dying breed!

Which is kind of how Juni wound up where she is now. Her unique abilities(And perhaps her cuteness) got her a job with a... somewhat disreputable(to most) detective agency, called Third Eye Investigations. The guy who hired her, for the record, has three eyes, and HAD been running the business by himself, but he needed a little help. The only thing is... well. Juni's not much of a detective.

She's SHY, you see. Timid, nervous, and awkward around new people, and she sees more new people than most people know exist! She hasn't got a forceful, confident personality, just cuteness and timidity and... really, she's gotten by on that, for a while, but it's still not good! Presumably, she's got some power she could throw around, thanks to her kitsune heritage... but either she doesn't know how, or it hasn't manifested, or she's just too damned timid.

Ah well. At least she's cute, right?
