Personality

Joyeuse travels the countryside mainly towards places of strife and sickness. She’ll make frequent stops in cities, however, plying her trade as a healer of ailments... though most of her remedies are quite frankly medieval. If she sees a problem she’ll likely be the first to prescribe treatment, generally shortly followed by the cost. If one cannot afford her services, she’ll often perform… charity work, as she calls it. These are her chances to try out more experimental remedies, and their curative properties tend to vary wildly.
She takes pride in her work and doesn’t tolerate disrespect to her profession, seeing the path of a doctor to be one of the most noble callings there is, and should she find herself insulted, Joyeuse might very well manipulate things so that those who slighted her find themselves soon after begging for her aid… through no fault of her own, of course.

Abilities and powers

Resiliance to Disease: Being both a carrion bird as well as a career doctor, Joyeuse is very resistant to infections whether they be viral, bacterial, or even of a magical nature. If somehow something should manage to sicken her, she tends to be able to cure it with a few good meals and a bit of bed rest... and possibly a few experimental remedies.

Blight Samples: Joyeuse tends to collect and maintain several varieties of plagues and illnesses in vials, pouches, or jars. While they are of no threat to her, anyone who crosses her or perhaps tries to go through her things runs the risk of releasing some sort of virulent toxin or disease.

Background

War, famine, plague, and death. All have followed civilization since its dawn. While the vast majority see such things and know they are to be avoided at all costs, others see… opportunity. Joyeuse, if that is even is her real name, has a fascination with such things. Desiring to know more about them and what they do to those that tragedy engulfs, she fancies herself as a follower of the Horsemen. She’ll go into the places torn by battle and disease, doing what she can to try to heal what the people and the lands as a sort of charity work, but never caring about the individuals she meets. To her it’s a chance to learn. A cure for a what ails you, a technique to save failing crops, or a method to send a wartorn soldier back home rather than to the grave. The injured, sick, or dying, well she owes cares for them only as a chance to try something new, or to perfect that which already works. If she did nothing, then their chances of survival would be even less, so she has no guilt at all if her proposed remedies only speeds their demise… But of course for those with the coin to pay for doctoral aid, she will give her best recommendations and as well as adequate treatment. After all, a doctor has to uphold a certain reputation among her customers.
