Joliette

Joliette, The Lost Girl.

You ever get that deja vu vibe? Like you've been somewhere before? Done something and swear that it's happened before? You're not crazy, you just experienced a rather natural phenomenon. Not that Joliette can rightly explain it, but sometimes the universe...shifts. Skips forward, loops back. Things can get a little timey wimey. And aside from an odd vibe every now and then, no one is worse for the wear. No memory of the fact.

Except Joliette.

The exception to the rule, Joliette is the girl lost in the fabric of reality. Cognizant of it's subtle quirks and changes but still helplessly thrall to it's actions. Reality is flexible to the young dark haired girl. She can wake up one morning to a world just like ours and by bed time she may be in a world ruled over by a fierce dragon. Sometimes there's replicants that walk among us. Sometimes human's are the minority amongst anthros. One time she spent a week in the dark ages.

She has long since stopped trying to understand it. Physics can't explain it and more than once the poor thing has been locked in a loony bin until the next big change so she's stopped trying to get outside help. No, she just opted to go with the flow. Act like everything is normal and learn to enjoy her new life. That's not to say she enjoys it of course. Nothing is permanent, so it's hard to care too deeply about anything.

Thankfully there are some things that tend to be constant. When the shifts are small, like the sky changing to red, she still has a family to come home to. When all the door handles changed sides, she still had the same friends at school. It's those big events that are jarring.

Given what she's going through, the girl tends to come across as pretty reserved. Not knowing the social norms day to day leads her to staying at the back of the pack. Let other people take charge and draw attention to themselves. She also tends to be fairly gullible, as who really knows if whatever lie she is being fed isn't the truth in this version?
