Because everyone seems to be confused by this, let me clarify this here: "Tsukasa" is the character's given name, not "Jinno". She's Japanese, and uses the proper Japanese name order.

Tsukasa is a high school girl with a love of the occult. She started (and is currently the only member of) a club at her school for the study of magic. But she has no idea what she's doing, casting spells pretty much at random. For the longest time, this resulted in the spells simply failing to do anything, but one day she stumbled upon a spell that actually worked.
The spell created a tiny duplicate of herself, which had a sort of "aura" that made her especially appealing to predators. Naturally, it wasn't too long before Tsukasa wound up eating herself, swallowing her tiny duplicate whole. As this was her first successful spell, Tsukasa has been attempting to recreate it, and experiment with similar spells, though the results are... mixed. She's managed to cast a decent number of spells in the days since, but hasn't learned to control the effects thereof. Most of the time, some sort of size alteration is involved, but other effects can be pretty much anything, subject to the whims of the Plot_Convenience Fairies.


If you would like to see Tsukasa's spells having any particular effect in an RP, just whisper me a request, and as long as it's within my preferences (below), I'd likely be happy to oblige.


Something I've been using for determining spell effects is using the "Roll To Dodge" system. This works as follows. Whenever Tsukasa attempts to cast a spell, I roll 1d6, possibly with modifiers if I deem them appropriate (e.g., Panicked, divide the result by 2), and apply the appropriate result:
1 (or lower): Epic Fail. The spell was not cast, and backfired horribly.
2: Fail. Nothing happened.
3: Partial Success.
4: Success. The spell was applied adequately.
5: Epic Success. The spell succeeded in the most positive way possible.
6 (or higher): Overshot. Though the result was achieved, the spell backfires horribly due to disproportionately large effort.


Another idea I've had for Tsukasa's spells is a "Wild Magic" system, wherein she can cast whatever she likes, as long as the spell has a clear target, but in exchange for guaranteeing a successful casting (equivalent of rolling a 4 with RTD rules), each spell comes with a random side-effect.
Upon casting, roll 1d20 and consult the table below. Each effect can only apply once. "Used up" slots are to be refilled at earliest convenience.
All time limits listed below are to be considered suggestions. They can be lengthened/shortened at any time, for any reason.



Sometimes Tsukasa just tries to cast a spell without having a clear and specific plan for what it should actually DO. I've assembled a "random spell effects" list for such moments.

When Tsukasa's Random Magic goes really crazy, it sometimes changes the Random Magic list! Here's some old spells that have left the list.

NEW! As an alternative to the above Random Magic chart, the following "Rogue Magic" chart has been copied from a tabletop RPG called Rogueland.
Roll 2d12, and create a spell based on the results. The roll can be performed before the spell is to be cast, but Tsukasa can only store up to 3 results at once (to encourage her to actually use what she rolls).
