A female demon who has taken up the ironic job class of becoming an "Exorcist", an individual who seeks out and slays demons, monsters and malicious spirits of various kinds. Taking no heed to what her kind may think of her 'job', Jigokuhime adapts a diligent and rather serious disposition, taking her duties as an exorcist seriously as well as her "training" which is needed to ascend higher in the ranks to becoming an esteemed "Blade Master", the highest (and strongest) grade of Exorcist in the known Netherworld(s). Jigokuhime is a bit stuffy when it comes to social situations, her serious attitude shining through even in idle conversation, however, this may or may not reflect her true nature since she is known to have lapses in which she comes off as impulsive and irresponsible. Jigokuhime is also known to be a bit lazy in things that often do not require the knowledge of Exorcism and Demon Extermination, her notion for such apparently stemming from her belief that anything that does not involve her training should be given less attention. However, few have managed to lay witness to a much looser and wild side to the demoness which only seems to surface if she consumes a 'deadly' combination of soda and sweets, the resulting cocktail of sugar and carbonated fluids seeming to screw with her demonic mind and releasing a side of her that's drunken, kooky and just plain weird all around. Known to be a glutton at times, especially for anything meaty.
Like many of her class, Jigokuhime is well trained in the art of Bushido and sword play, her style of fighting seeming to not be just restricted to katana and thus extending to other bladed weapons as well. Exorcism is often performed by simply killing a demonic entity with her blade, a basic form of her training granting her the innate attribute to imbue her weapon with demon sealing energies. Alongside this are the usage of talismans and ofuda that have various effects depending on what is used, though Jigokuhime seems to be a bit unskilled with them and claims she has to ascend to "Diabolist" rank to learn more about them. Jigokuhime currently resides at an old shrine where others may approach her with a job to slay a demon. Jigokuhime is known to ask for donations which she claims helps revive the god the shrine is dedicated to, however, this in and of itself is a lie as the "god" apparently took up and left centuries ago. It's believed she uses the money to go out and get drunk.
Much of Jigokuhime's past is a locked away secret, something she shares with no one unless she trusts them enough...or if she's intoxicated enough to spill the beans herself. What can be gathered from various stories told to random strangers she's met in a drunken haze was that, Jigokuhime was actually the daughter of a well renowned exorcist and inherited exceptional skill in the art of demonic banishing and sealing. However, at some point or another, Jigokuhime went her own way and attempted to discover her own path in the art of being an Exorcist...and only then has found herself wrapped into the decadent tendrils of indulgence and sloth. Her talents in the sealing arts still exist but, requires her to look past her current laziness to tap into the full extent of her demon slaying capabilities.
Jigokuhime is even a mother, as hard as it is to believe. Of course, the child she has was not concieved due to a night of drunken sex with someone she didn't know. Rather, the child she has, quite literally, fell from the sky and into her shrine's donations box. This child was the cupid by the name of
Amora. After attempting multiple times to send the divine child on her way, Jigokuhime found that Amora would simply...return to her shrine shortly after, whether attached or imprinted to it's location, was something the shrine maiden didn't readily know. Nevertheless, Jigokuhime took the Cupid in with her and, more or less, did her best to raise her like she was her own. Of course, Jigokuhime's style of living did...leave lasting marks on the Cupid's personality and mannerisms, things generally turned out okay between them. As of currently, Amora has matured and left to do things on her own though, Jigokuhime still welcomes her back if she ever returns to the shrine again...
