Yeah, not a very creative alias, is it?

Jacklyn Melthos is a rather bright girl. Or, at least, she was in school. Though, admittedly, curiosity and imagination got the better of her, and she ended up making quite a few mistakes. The first of these mistakes came in the form of a mysterious kit she found in her late grandfather's attic. She took the case out and observed it, only to discover several crystal vials within filled with an odd, green liquid.

Being a scientific mind, she began to analyze and test the liquid to the best of her abilities. Her father was a scientist and she had followed in his footsteps, and it didn't take much for her to get a few test subjects. Exposure to the chemical showed beneficial traits upon rats, including increased muscle density and durability. One such rat that escaped actually killed a cat trying to make a meal of it. After analyzing the chemical make-up of this mysterious concoction, she made her own 'perfected' version out of much fresher ingredients and decided to proceed with human testing, without even thinking of consulting her father. After all, if she had found some way to increase the strength of human beings with no side-effects, then what harm could come of it?

... Of course, she should've waited more than a few weeks to see what else became of the rats.

Regardless of the hindsight, she began to take doses of the compound herself, and within mere days began to experience signs of bodily improvement. Her form became lean and trim, though it exhibited strength far beyond one of her size should have. She actually managed to triumph in most sports thrown at her, which was astounding given her total lack of capability earlier... Though, admittedly, she played a bit rough, causing a few injuries due to her aggressive style of play, though nothing too serious came of it. At first.

After two weeks, it started. Voices, then images, and ultimately she met her Hyde. Indeed, Jacklyn had stumbled across a bit of a family heirloom, but perhaps not the best one to come across. The young girl transformed one night into a rather voluptuous woman, a good two feet taller than her and lacking most reservations... Including family ties. She killed her parents and younger brother, and due to certain compounds in the chemical, she was given the remarkable ability to dispose of them in a rather simple, effective, and evidence-removing fashion, consuming their bodies whole. Turns out her little brother was alive before he hit the stomach. Tragic, that.

Now she roams around, no real home, police always on her tail. She keeps a good stock of her potion always on hand, just in case she needs a quick fix. It's addictive stuff, but it doesn't force the transformation immediately as the old version was infamous for. Rather, it simply builds up stores and releases it whenever Hyde deems it necessary for her own ends.

... And how does Jacklyn feel about this? Rather apathetic, really. She's not so much warring with her persona as she is studying her methods, attempting to find a way to control her, yet avoiding becoming too much a nuisance for her crude counterpart. After all, there's nothing saying that Hyde couldn't take over entirely and leave her locked away. So she just lets her do as she will...
