Jasmine was a part of a particular species of mermaid, her species was small, incredibly small in comparison, At only 16 inches long makes her amongst the smallest of her species, It also makes them sought after as unique pets sometimes selling upwards of a million or more on black market trading. Sometimes Mermaids of her species are sold to high end restaurants to be served as special dishes for predators either alive, or cooked!

Part of what makes them so expensive is their elusiveness, their ability to hide is almost ten fold that of her larger species, as she can hide in much smaller places then they can. But it also means that predators of any size may target them.

Jasmine loves her freedom! She has managed to evade capture for a long period of time the feeling of being able to swim where ever she wanted, do what ever she wanted always made her happy, She had no one to answer to, and nothing holding her back! Her scales glimmer in the sun almost appearing golden in colour, she loves her scales, if you were to comment on them, she would easily warm up to you it is her greatest asset, and in a way, one of her biggest weakness's more then once she had found herself getting friendly with a shark, or a fisherman simply because they commented on her beauty!
