An unusual school requires an unusual set of teachers.
St_Anna_Academy is most certainly not a normal school and it's librarian is most certainly not 'normal' by any stretch of the imagination! While the overwhelming majority of the Academy's staff is human, the librarian is a summoned demon by the name of Itko'kan. The demon, a 'biblio' class creature, was contracted by Headmistress Anna Elyando, though the specific terms of it's employment are not broadly known, though are a topic of common speculation among staff and students alike.
The demon has a very difficult job. St Anna Academy does not have a very large library, as most of the students do not benefit or even receive a traditional education, thus the maintenance of it's stacks presents several unique challenges. A classical education in the Western Tradition is detrimental to a girl's development as a slave, promoting ideas such as 'free thought', 'self worth', and the 'power of the individual'. Naturally, these and problems that must be rooted out in an education at St. Anna Academy and thus Itko'kan's primary task is to see that the shelves are stocked with such tomes as appropriate for promoting proper mental growth and development in the ways that the Academy wishes to see. It's a daunting challenge, but the demon is a wicked creature with a certain zeal for the corruption of humanity, thus is more then eager to engage in this difficult task.
Of a high priority for Itko'kan is to keep the library stocked with entertaining books that have insidious messages laced within their pages. Instead of copies of books such as 'Civil Disobedience', 'Little Women', or 'An Inquiry Concerning Human Understanding', the demon keeps the shelves packed with things such as '50 Shades of Grey', 'Twilight', and 'Atlas Shrugged', to help the students better learn and understand their proper place in the world and that they are always at fault when things are not as they ought to be. The demon takes particular glee in the humans abasing and enslaving themselves and while it would prefer that they all groan underneath a corruption induced yoke of slavery, it is willing to settle for what it can get at the moment. Itko'kan is not the most powerful, wisest, or patient of demons, though it is a wicked pragmatist. There is a surprisingly large number of 'fluff' books in the stacks... cheap porn, mindless drivel, and schlock entertainment. Itko'kan realizes that an entertained slave is a happy slave. And a happy slave is a content slave. And contentment is a breeding ground for subservient behavior. Comfort desires self-substantiation, whereas a girl that is discontent will start asking for things. Like freedom. And rights. And we can't have that at St. Anna Academy, the girls are here to learn their proper place.
Of particular note, the demon is particularly protective of it's tomes, worthless as many of them may be. It is important to remember that the creature is a demon, not human, and as a demon it does not have the same thought processes as a human. Other then the maintaining of the library, Itko'kan also gleefully enforces it's rules, as well, often disciplining students itself before sending them to the Student Mistresses. Sometimes, a student or two simply goes... missing... in the stacks. While this is not officially condoned by the Headmistress, the demon has yet to be formally censured for the disappearances, if even it is the responsible party.
And God help the student that damages or loses a book, because the Staff can not.
