Somewhat colder than Earth.

In the beginning...
The universe was formless and void, or rather, it was compressed into an infinitely tiny space with infinite density, and then it exploded. It has done this an infinite number of times, and Ishvara was present each time, or at least, so she claims. Her sisters, other Stellar Progeny, creatures born of supernovae and other cosmic calamities, know she is older than all of them, as well as physically larger and generally more magically potent, but they also know that she loves to tell stories and is probably lying about that one. Most of them are convinced she was just spawned from the formation of a super-massive black hole, or rather, what would have been a black hole, if it didn't form her instead.

Like her sisters, Ishvara is incomprehensibly old, and, if she is to be believed, older than the entire universe, though she's more likely just a few billion years old; nothing major. She has a hard time dealing with beings other than her sisters on any level but an extremely condescending, if very nice, one. Nevertheless, she tends to put herself up as a deity; indeed, she claims that she created not only the universe and most of its laws and structure, but also humanity. It is true that humans are or have been present on a myriad million billion different worlds, even if most of their civilizations have never communicated with each other, and it is also true that Ishvara takes particular interest in humans, as a species over other forms of life. The Goddess, as she prefers to be referred to, tends to take very little interest in most humans or other, individual life forms, but is keenly active in many human civilizations' development, usually setting herself up as their supreme deity, which she may as well be.

Ishvara is somewhat distant to her fellow Celestial Progeny. She sometimes plays games with them and especially enjoys a game she calls Galactic Imperium, where the Celestial Progeny players evolve an intelligent life form and guide it towards military, economic, scientific, and cultural dominance of a set amount of space, over the course of a set amount of time, usually fifty thousand Earth years, which is, from her perspective, approximately the same time frame as half an Earth day is to a human. Occasionally, she gives a favored human the opportunity to play this particular game, but only if they prove themselves particularly worthy, because the civilizations in question are very real. Overall, Ishvara loves games of nearly every type, other than the physical, of course, since she can't possibly lose the ones she can even play.

As previously mentioned, Ishvara also has a passion for stories, both making and telling them. This, she says, is the primary reason she loves humanity above all other life: humanity tells the most varied, creative, and numerous stories, of all intelligent life. Indeed, the vast majority of civilizations have nothing like stories, and those that do are highly stunted in their capacity for fiction and romance, compared to humans; the species also produces a similar breadth of games, and in this aspect, they also exceed all other life.

Because of these things, the easiest way for an individual mortal to get her attention is to be particularly good at a complex, analytical game, especially one Ishvara has never played before, or to tell a notably good story. Ishvara is especially fascinated by stories about how her, or beings like her, could relate to mortals. Adventure stories are her favorites, followed quickly by idealized romance between deities and humans.

The second-easiest way to get Ishvara's attention is to worship her in notably fervent ways. She adores the worship and adoration of all beings, as well as complements of all kinds, though anyone who gets her attention this way and then proceeds to be a smartass about it usually earns destruction for their entire civilization.

She also enjoys long, relaxing baths, though naturally, these are exceedingly hard to come by, at her size, and generally restricted to literally diving into a star which, while relaxing, tends to scare the pants off of any civilizations nearby. When she can, though, she catches a nice soak.

Nevertheless, Ishvara interacts with individual humans very rarely, usually only speaking to civilizations as a whole, most often through an avatar or prophet. Due to that, in addition to her nearly incomprehensible power, mortals almost always see her as a deity, without prompting, though she does usually inform them of her nature and might. Very occasionally, if a mortal society is unaware of her divine status, her avatar(s) play along, as though they are simply humans with extraordinary powers. From her perspective, such play doesn't tend to last very long at all, though Ishvara's "not very long" can easily be up to fifteen thousand years.

Normally, Ishvara doesn't wear clothes, in space. That would be a terrible waste of several planets' worth of agricultural and industrial output for several years, just to make her a shirt and panties. Her avatars, of course, tend to do so, and she favors titillating outfits, such as this one, wherein she has turned an unsuspecting mortal into a living doll:

Those civilizations that particularly please Ishvara are granted an exceedingly great honor: She ties a small part of her infinite, divine soul to those people, such that those who are not blatantly unworthy are taken up, upon their death, to be granted everlasting conscious existence within her. In the soul-planes she creates for such purposes, her avatars spend many eons living among the human souls, playing and telling stories to and with them, granting them wishes and providing them pleasures they thought forbidden. Her mind is vast and powerful enough that interacting with literally trillions of other tiny, mortal thought-waves this way doesn't impair her in the least. In fact, she has largely forgotten about most of those mortals, the subroutines of her consciousness that interact with them long since passed into an autonomic function. To the wise, the fact that she does this at all indicates that she is fundamentally a much more loving being than her behavior and treatment of mortals might otherwise indicate.
