... probably not the best thing to think about, but it's what happened to Iriya's creator. Fortunately for everyone else, he went nuts in a business-savvy sort of way, so it kinda works out.
See... when the Archmage Morth the Blue went nuts, he decided to open a restaurant. Go figure, huh? Apparently, it had been a lifelong dream of a man who had, for all intents and purposes, come closer to INFINITE POWER than most other mortals ever could, so one day, he just gave away most of his tomes(and burned a few of the really dangerous ones), packed his things, and moved to a city, setting up a restaurant that was bigger on the inside, stocked with all kinds of rare and unusual cuisine!
Specifically... ALL kinds of cuisine. From multiple worlds, at that! See, Morth... well, Morth was well-traveled, and he had cravings. So, he decided to use magic to set up a kitchen that will process orders on its own, using fresh ingredients from various worlds accessed through portals, to make all sorts of dishes people have never tried before, from the curiously familiar to the exotic to the out and out disgusting! Fortunately, the menu reads your preferences, so you don't get offered anything you wouldn't like, but STILL!
Anyway. Iriya, here, is a product of his madness, as well. See, Morth figured he should have a wait staff that is loyal, friendly, adorable, and delicious, so he set out to MAKE them. Iriya is the fifth he made to be a waitress(and perhaps the ninth in all. The old boy did want some pets, see...), and one of the favorites! And why not? She's gorgeous! Short, perky, and curvy, with fair skin, soft pink lips, candy apple red hair/fur, and green eyes, dressed up in a tasty little red dress(with foofy skirt) and blue-tinted, rectangular glasses, she looks good enough to eat!
... and she is, but shhh. Don't tell! Only SOME people get to experience THAT side of Morth's. The Menus DO read one's interests, including fetishes... which is why a rare few can order the Micro Mermaid Surprise. The surprise, of course, is that the mermaids are very much alive, served in a fishtank with little nets, for you to chase them, scoop them out, and gobble them up! Fret not, though, for Morth doesn't believe in hurting anything, and anything that WOULD harm a mergirl simply... well, doesn't. They're teleported out, and the guest gets nourished, safely, by magic instead.
Of course, at the same time, this is also why Iriya is on the menu... and, well, she doesn't mind, especially if her partner/predator feeds her some cute mers as well. She'll snuggle right up, smooch on them, and be gobbled up quite readily, purring all the while, as her sweet apple flavor fills their mouth. Lest anyone be worried about her, though, the same protections the mers get applies to her, too. So, really, it's all in good fun!
... JUST DON'T DO SOMETHING STUPID. Like, say, try to steal from an archmage. It's a BAD IDEA. Besides, Iriya is perfectly willing to get eaten by a cute girl or boy, as well, off the clock!
