Hey! You can't be going out all hurt like that! C'mere!
Huh? No! Nooooo!*ulp*
*giggles* Silly humans.... they always scream... wonder why?
Ineri.... what is there to say about Ineri?
Well... there's all sort of things to say about her, most of them pretty bad, if you listen to her patients. Before she fixes them up, that is.
You see, Ineri used to be a human...a normal girl, with an ordinary name that she's now forgotten. She was on a local sport's team, the only one with any sort of medical training. No big deal, right? Sports aren't that dangerous. Most of the time she only had to disinfect her teammates and apply a bandage, maybe some salve. Nothing too involved, heck they could do it themselves!
But, one day... there was an accident. A drunk driver crashed into the car they were using. T-boned them, and he was going way too fast. Ineri was on the opposite side, so she was largely uninjured, save for some whiplash and a few abrasions. Her team, though... they weren't so lucky. Two of them were killed instantly... and the last one was bleeding internally. The driver of the other vehicle died, as well...
IN any case, Ineri did her best to save her friend, but she didn't know how to help with internal bleeding. She ddn't know how to spot it, or how to help stop it... she spent her time comforting her friend, tending to the wounds she could see, up until the point that her friend passed away, in her arms... right before the ambulance arrived.
The ordeal changed her... Ineri was shaken to her core by this event. She was taken away to the hospital, not protesting.... almost lifeless. She didn't say a word... she hardly reacted at all to any questions the EMTs asked. She just... numbly followed along. Worried, the doctors decided to keep her in the hospital, and monitor her for changes.
Nothing changed. She was rather listless, not eating, not drinking. The IVs didn't help, either... she was slipping away. Inside her, grief was gnawing at her, grief and guilt over not being able to save her friend... and one morning, when the doctors came to her room, she, too, had passed on.
However, that wasn't the end of her.
The grief and guilt that had consumed her... changed her. Her body was no longer the vessel for her soul.... instead, she had transcended it. She became something else... something stranger. Something better. She became, in fact, a demoness rather like the one n that picture.
There are a few differences, of course. For one, she has no piercings. For another, her hair is black. She has a slender, black, spade-tipped tail emerging from a point just over her rear, and has no clothes, not even a choker and hat. And lastly, her eyes glow a faint, eerie blue. It's kind of creepy... but, well, she can't help that.
Inside... she's one of the kindest, gentlest souls you'll ever meet. Sweet, loving, and all in all a good person, she's drawn to the pain of others. She'll follow a sensation of pain that is strong enough for great distances, keeping hidden, waiting for the hurt person to wander off on their own, before introducing herself.
And she's well-equipped to deal with pain, she is. Her tongue is very gentle, and incredibly soft, perfect for moving injured folks around. Her skin is almost as soft, as well, which may be surprising. Her saliva is a numbing agent, when she wills it, so anywhere she licks will become numb in short order as she sees fit. And she's got a great bedside manner.
Now... what she does to someone once she has them depends on their condition. Someone who's been poisoned will almost inevitably be UBed and detoxified. Someone who's broken a leg, they'll be swallowed whole. She can absorb, envelope, or consume someone in any way, as she sees fit. Her body is clean, and harmless, indeed incapable of digestion. (absorption, yes, but only to rebuild someone's body).
Of course, you don't have to be injured for her to eat you.... she looooves willing, healthy guests!
How does she remain unseen? Simple. She hides behind a Veil. She's invisible and intangible to others in this state. Handy, when one's about 45 feet tall...
