Illya is, or was, a thief. A very capable aerokinetic woman that used her abilities to steal high-priced jewels to sell on the black market or to collect. A young, stupid teenager that wanted to get rich quick but unfortunately got caught by being cocky with her abilities. It does not need to be said that she had the book thrown at her.

Once you go to prison, that record follows you for the rest of your life. Illya was in prison for years before she was releated on parole. Upon her release she applied to no less than one hundred jobs and was denied by the majority of them because of her ex-con status. She wanted to be angry, she wanted to lash out but she just took her punches and kept trying. It was her own fault that she ended up with this life but maybe she had a second chance now. She just had to work hard for it. Stumbling upon the bartending job was a miracle, regardless of the training she had to do to become competent at it.

A year after her release from prison, after she had settled into her role at her job, and she felt...normal. Was life meant to be like this? No evading the police? No trying to give heroes the slip so she could reap the spoils of a heist? Just...working a regular job and getting paid? It was dull in comparison to her former life but maybe dull was good? Could this lead to excitement of a different variety? Not like she's ever gotten a date with the whole supervillain gig.
