Even the elves have stories that they tell to their children to ease them into the realm of dreams and coax them to behave and follow moral codes. One of the more infamous tales is that of the 'Heleg Bereth', the Ice Queen. She was a monarch whose lover ran off with another woman, leaving her cold and jaded and turning herself, as well as the rest of her kingdom to frost, snow, and ice itself. She threatened the many elven nations until one pure-hearted ranger begged her to cease the violence and offered himself for his village. The action warmed her heart and, while those beneath her rule still used the element of ice rather than the Earth-based magics most elves in the land were accustomed to, she never again used her powers to do wrong against the other elven kingdoms. She supposedly went on to marry the Ranger, and all was well.

Of course, as is the case with most tales, the tragic story of the Ice Queen was softened in order to keep the children from a dreaded truth. The Ranger was not so noble and pure-hearted, and unsure of whether he could trust the Ice Queen after the two had been wed, he killed her before soon meeting a grizzly end at the hands of her guards. From the blood that spilled from her flesh formed the new ruler of the Kingdom of Ice, Nostariel, the Eternal Ice Princess.

Her flesh was snow, her bones, when present and solidified, pure ice itself. Her eyes glimmered like shimmering diamonds, and her beauty within the kingdom she rules is beyond compare. As was the case with her mother prior to the initial betrayal that made her the Ice Queen, Nostariel has a tendency to lust after men and women in a manner that almost makes her comparable to humans by the standards of the 'higher' elves, though few would dare challenge her morality due to her power.

While the Kingdom of Ice still exists, many elves are forbidden from setting foot on its ground, lest they wish to die, though it is now a center of commerce between those few elves of neighboring kingdoms that have gained Nostariel's respect and humans. It is also home to its continent's only dimensional gateway leading to the Nexus, allowing Nostariel to travel to the Park in pursuit of her desires.

Despite her cold constitution, Nostariel will not melt unless she wishes it, and will still remain cold in spite of that. She can also take on a more elven appearance, with legitimate flesh to boot... Though few see this form and survive. She has a tendency to make those she fancies a part of her being, absorbing them as most 'googirls' are wanton to do after having her way with them...
