. Kasen is a hermit from the Youkai Mountain that holds a polite and helpful disposition, always open to give advice and is never slow to teach those around her a lesson or two in various aspects. However, while she herself is fairly good matured with equally good intentions in mind, this does not mean that her mannerisms can be seen as completely pure
. Many will complain about Kasen having an 'preachy' personality and one that is overly critical to others. While subjective to many, the vast majority around her tend to see Kasen as a simple girl who has a tendency to nag others but, Kasen only seems to do this simply because she wishes to help the person better themselves by perhaps bringing faults and mistakes to light. This would, in turn, help the person better fix what ever sort of problem they might have (or what Kasen thinks they have). Kasen also seems to hold a fair amount of secrets pertaining to herself and what her true motives really are. Much like with Seiga now, others seem to grow rather suspicious of her objectives and would even go so far as to not trust her simply because they don't know what she's truly after. Though, could anyone truly blame them...?
Kasen has a number of powers under her belt, however her more well known is through that of beast control, her ability allowing her to communicate with and befriend wild animals. It is through this control and sense of understanding that Kasen has amassed a large number of pets that live with her back at her dojo in the Youkai Mountain. Not surprisingly, Kasen also shows a large knowledge about magic (usually of the oriental variety) and can pull off a number of techniques. For example, her dojo off into the mountains often doesn't appear to others, this is because of her arrangement of special magical talismens that work to conceal her residence from others. Alongside this is that mysterious bandaged arm of hers, while looking like the solution to a horrible injury, Kasen's bandaged arm actually houses, not her arm, but a strange mist that can only be described as 'anti-matter'. Kasen's bandaged arm, for that matter, can prove to be very dangerous to spiritual beings as she's been known to literally crush Onryou (evil spirits) with this very arm
. While not exhibited often, it's believed that Kasen may be gifted in close combat as well, her 'special' arm proving to be a very effective weapon against youkai and spirits
