Husni

"My full name would be Calipha Husni Khayriyya, the Beautiful and Charitable spirit of the ever-lasting desert, but I wouldn't expect mortals to know that. You've probably already noticed that you tend to have short lifespans and its not like papyrus and stone carvings last forever. Besides, the 'charitable' part doesn't really apply these days anyway. Why have you summoned one such as I~?" -Husni

How does one deal with the fact that they have nigh unimaginable power at their fingertips but it can only be cast forth at the whims of one's lessers? That is the dilemma that Husni and many djinn must deal with within the prisons of mortal designs, trapped by canny sorcerers and ancient incantations at the behest of the ambitious and greedy. And for what purpose?

To grant wishes~!

How Husni hates that word and how it usually comes up to her! To think that she, a creature born of smokeless fire by the Great Creator, would be trapped within a fire opal of all things to await the desires and intentions of mortal-kind! She had ruled as a gracious and wise queen for longer than even she could remember and sure, she might have been a bit whimsical...but she hardly deserved her current fate! "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW BORING IT IS STUCK IN A GEM?!" For that is where Husni lays now, nobility of a powerful, ancient rest that has been essentially enslaved by any individual that frees her from its crimson depths and bound to grant them three wishes before being banished to its depths once more. Whats more is that she is bound to grant any mortal a single wish who asks for one while she is free~! It is utterly humiliating for one as proud as she is~! That doesn't even take into account the fact that she can be banished back to her crystalline prison before her time if one speaks the proper incantation over the gem!

"HOW IS THAT FAIR?!"

Needless to say the Calipha is rarely fond of the younger species and often takes great delight in twisting the wording of a request to bring about some ill-omen on those who would seek to abuse her current situation. Not because she has to either, but because she just really dislikes mortals because of everything they've done to her. Sure, she could change her opinion on individuals and she has (occasionally) but only to the point that she often takes a simply literal interpretation of a wish rather than an openly malicious one. That's if she likes a particular mortal at the time of the wish and oftentimes such a person isn't the one that's freed her from the fire opal either.

There must be limits though...right? Things that she simply cannot do in case one finds themselves on the receiving end of the djinn's wrath...And...there are...sort of. For one she can't wish herself or another being like her out of existence...something about being half of a perfect sphere that must always exist prevents her from doing stuff like that. Second, not because she can't but because she won't, Husni cannot actively harm her wishmaster until she has fulfilled the third wish. Why? Because if she did than its right back into the opal but now with rumors about it being 'cursed' making it less likely that she'll be freed in the future. Next, she cannot actively force someone to make a wish, though she can put them into situations where they may need to make a wish in order to survive, one of the benefits that free will gives to mortals. Lastly, she cannot give others more wishes than they have...and that's one that not even she knows why she can't do. She simply can't despite her efforts. If that doesn't sound like much that's because it isn't, there aren't a whole lot of restrictions placed on her kind and those who summon her (or any djinn) on a whim are doomed to some sort of terrible fate for playing with beings of such power and, often, malice.
