The Boy-Captain, The Surge's Thrall, Accursed of the Siren

**History**
He just showed up, on the deck of a ship being tossed in a storm. A lone child, clinging to the salt-drenched deck of a ship in the roil of the Undying Sea. That's what they say, anyway, and Hrothghar never corrects them. He likes the mystique being added to his reputation. Those who know him best, though they are few, say that his life began somewhere in the northern tides of the Undying Sea, on the deck of a raiding vessel. That life of piracy and plunder is all Hrothghar has ever known, and all he ever desired. It didn't take long for him to learn the ropes, master the sword, and with his almost preternatural luck, he was captain before he hit his second decade. That luck, however, tends to manifest in strange ways. The greatest example of this, is when Hrothghar's boat went down in his first storm. He found himself sinking beneath the waves, splinters of wood, cargo, and bodies floating all around him, when he swore he saw the goddess of the sea herself swallowing what was left of his previous life. When she saw him, however, she spoke to him. She introduced herself as a siren, and promised to return Hrothghar safely to life whenever he was near death. However, he would forever be in her thrall, never able to leave the sea for long. Furthermore, should the Siren ever desire, she might simply interfere with him and his life at any time with her near omnipotent magics. Hrothghar accepted her offer, and awoke on the shore of a remote island, and since, has been continuing his sailing with supernatural phenomena all around him.

**Personality**
Hrothghar is a pirate in the purest sense. There is nothing he won't explore, nothing he will back down from stealing, and nothing anyone can do to temper his pride. He will regularly bite off much more than he can chew, just because he has such an inflated ego. This all said, he is quite kind to those that he sees as needing protection or comfort or guidance. He has a good heart, and no patience whatsoever for uneccesary cruelty.

**OOC**
I think it'd be cool to play this character with someone else playing the Siren, there would be some interesting dynamics there. All that said, I am open to most ideas and all approaches. Hit me up if you're ever interested!
