An Alt of the Girlcollection. Hotarumaru is a fancharacter from the "Touken Ranbu" game, though this is my own spin on the boy. Also, yes, he is much older than he looks.

There is a belief in Japan stating that the strongest of swords are those that get forged while a dying warrior lets a priest bind his will and power into the blade. That might only be a legend, but in any case, Hotarumaru's case seems to resemble this. He originally was nothing more than a (masterfully crafted) weapon, a curved, long blade smithed in 1297. Somehow, the sword was more than just the material used, though, as it was sentient and had a soul. Some centuries ago, a 'Sage' travelled around and sought out swords that harbored an essence. The motive for doing this is unclear, but it had one goal: find such "living" swords and grant them a body.

That is how Hotarumaru was created. The sage formed a human frame for him, transferring the sword's essence and soul into the new body. As long as the sword exists and is intact, the body will prevail. Both are linked now, Hotarumaru feels sensations in his human body but also from the blade that he represents, although his conciousness remains in his human half. Should one be damaged, the other part will get damaged too, although they can be mended, repaired and healed if the effects are not fatal. Because the sword doesn't physically age, Hotarumaru's human body doesn't do this either, making him near immortal (at least concerning illness and old age).

The sword is a very long weapon called an "Oodachi" (sometimes also referred to as Nodachi). It is a two-handed blade that strikes with powerful blows and warriors need to train many years to acquire the great strength needed to yield it. This is surprising, considering the human body of Hotarumaru is rather short and petite. The boy's appearance is that of a young, cute, slightly effeminate, roughly 14 year old teenager. He stands at a measly 4 feet, making him only half a feet and a few inches taller than the sword he uses is long - the Oodachi has a length of roughly 3 feet and 4 inches (100 cm). According to his size, he also does not weigh much, as apparently his strength and power have nothing to do with his looks.

Hotarumaru has a sweet, appealing face, delicate skin and a slender figure. His legs are quite long while still slim, and overall he just looks a bit small and weak. The shota-like boy has grey, short, curly hair and green eyes. Contrasting his girly, modest form is the size of his private parts. Maybe as innuendo to his long, heavy sword, Hotarumaru is 'well-equipped', sporting a shaft of slightly over 8 inches if it is fully erect. He wears rather cute, showy clothes, usually in black or dark colors. His go-to attire consists of black shorts, a black and gold-embroidered jacket over a light shirt, a black hat, black low shoes and grey socks. Also, he often wears a cloak which has a piece of traditional japanese armor on the upper left arm.

Hotarumaru is, despite his age, a very curious, playful and giddy person. He loves to meet new people or do new things, and can get distracted easily. The boy is a carefree, happy-go-lucky type that does not worry much about the future, and rather enjoys life. He can be a bit childish and naive at times, although he is smarter than he might seem - however, sometimes he uses child-like logic and acts unreasonable and maybe a tad selfish. Hotarumaru has a fondness for snuggling and other lovely stuff with cute persons he likes, getting physical very easy and fast and not having a lot of hesitation or modesty. He has a lewd side too, and if he gets horny and finds someone attractive (especially cute boys), Hotarumaru can actually be a bit domineering and teasy, taking charge of a situation due to his power.

He wants to 'feel good' and does whatever comes to mind in that moment. Generally, he is relatively spontaneous, and if he sets his mind on something, he will do it or get it no matter what. He gets excited about fun or naughty things - or people, in fact - around him very often, and once he is in that state, it's near impossible to snap him out of it. In combat, Hotarumaru is actually a very skilled fighter, and one that keeps rather calm. He enjoys fighting but is not striving after bloodshed, preferring to get intimate with someone rather than inflicting pain in order to get aroused. Although he is so cuddly, the boy absolutely hates getting petted and belittled, as his height seems to be something he is a bit ashamed of. Hotarumaru has a liking for shiny, sparkling things, just as the first part of his name suggest, since Hotaru means 'firefly'.

In fact, there is a tale some tell about the sword. A great swordsman had used the Oodachi in combat, besting countless foes in a grim fight. The blade suffered from a number of chips and cuts due to the 'mowing' movements that the swordsman did with it. Exhausted, the warrior fell asleep at the foot of Mount Aso. In his sleep, he had an odd dream about a swarm of fireflies sitting on top of his sword, making it glow in the dark. When he woke up on the next morning, he was surprised to find out that the blade of his weapon was completely repaired and all damage was gone. The sword was later given the name "Hotarumaru" due to that, and was revered in the Aso family shrine before disappearing - and later resurfacing alongside the human body it had been given.

Although his size does not suggest it, Hotarumaru has amazing physical specs. His strength and durability lie way over the limits of normal human beings, enabling him to do jaw-dropping acts, one of those is his habit of yielding his heavy sword with just one hand and swinging it around as if it was nothing more than a dagger. He also is vore-capable, and can cram an adult human into his insides without too much trouble thanks to being flexible and stretchy. Hotarumaru is not a relentless predator though, and does it more in situations where he gets hungry and no other food is available (in fact, Hotarumaru has a healthy appetite and often eats large portions of food, his strong metabolism preventing him from fattening up). He takes whatever jobs come along (usually mercenary or bodyguard services), not really having a fixed employment.
