Horned_Yakuza

The Yakuza are an organization that has thrived in Japan for just over four hundred years, starting with the Tekiya, simple, low class peddlers doing what they could to survive, and eventually organizating at the very start of the 1700's, and the Bakuto, taking part in gambling and fleecing travelers on roads. Even today, a member of the Yakuza might identify themselves as Tekiya or Bakuto, depending on just where their roots come from. Few remember that the Tekiya were sanctioned by the Shogunates, that their structure came directly from the Shogun trying to curb gang warfare. Of course, that's only natural. For most modern day Yakuza, the biggest boom for their societies came from the lull after World War 2, which is where the modern Yakuza movement derives its power and influence. It's hard to remember something that happened so long ago, especially since even the oldest Yakuza is rarely even a century old. Of course, most of them are simply human, so Rokkaku Ane can hardly blame them.

Rokkaku, Ane-Sensei, or even just 'Anne' is an oni and has been a part of the Yakuza for nearly three hundred years. It's a position that has earned her a great deal of respect and influence, despite her own personal claims that she's just part of the muscle that keeps the Yakuza's assets safe. Still it's hard for the Yakuza to keep such things in mind except out of some token respect to her wishes. She is an elder in every sense of the word, but also a literal supernatural entity. She's nearly eight feet tall and her body is lined with muscle to the envy of any body-builder, but her strength goes far beyond that. She is bulletproof, incredibly powerful and an old oni like her has many unusual magical tricks up her disposal, not that she typically shows them off.

Due to her status, but her own insistence that she is not a leader, she often finds herself in a strong advisory role, and is implicitly trusted by most of the Yakuza leadership. In fact, it's even said that no one can ascend to leadership of a family if they don't have Rokkaku's approval. If one were to ask her though, she's just an old, fierce oni out to look after the only family she's ever known. She loves her drink, and is good natured about losses in cards or friendly competitions with others. Not that she loses many contests outside of gambling. Her goals are a mystery and after three hundred years it truly does seem like the Oni is satisfied with her life. Even if that life is one of a criminal.

As personable as Ane is, it's always important to remember she works for the Yakuza, a gang that deals in drugs, human trafficking, protection money, illegal gambling, and loan sharking. She happily helps with all of it. Protection money and loan sharking is her specialty, but she also takes out...problems. Need a heavy load shipped? She can do it. Need someone to vanish? It'll be her pleasure. Need a loan paid back? She can handle it, just don't expect to see that person around anymore. It's all too easy to look at the sweet, almost sisterly way she'll treat her fellow Yakuza and forget that she's an evil monster, with a taste for human flesh.
