story: Manii was born into the world by a mother who knew shadow magics. And a father who committed necromancy and darker magics. Though when the two fell for each other. They believed their magic and adventurous days over with. Till both learned that their daughter had a high concentration of mana. Meaning she would be able to learn spells quickly. And faster then any known mage who must usually spend a lifetime to learn even the basics of the magic they are studying. Of course, while the mother was thrilled to have a daughter who could easily learn all of her and the father’s magic sets, the father wasn’t thrilled. In fact, he resented the fact his daughter would be linked to what he swore off. At age 5. Manii was already beginning to learn how to speak to spirits, as well as shadow step. Speaking to even creatures who have passed on. Yet being a polite and rather innocent child tended to have its downsides. Later, at age 10 Manii learned this when a demon tried to take control of her body though the dreamscape. The fabled land where everything with mana is linked too. And the fertile place for mages to fall victim to certain types of demons who wish to tread the surface world. At this point however. Just as the father wouldn’t allow this. And banished the study and teachings of magic from the household they all lived at within the woods. To avoid Manii from being possibly taken, the father made a deal with someone or something that would help them put a field around their home and nullify all magic. And for a time? Manii was kept in the dark from learning anything new. Until she turned 16. Learning the barrier only exceeded from her home up past a few trees. And there she started to secretly venture outward past her parent’s yard. And learn more without any limits! Talking with many more spirits and those who would teach her. and keeping up a cautious nature when dealing with demons. By the time she was 18 she learned most of what her parents knew. And much more. Yet. Tragic struck when she lost both her mother and father. A group of bandits lead by another mage broke into the home and destroyed everything. Lucky for Manii she wasn’t home. Yet when she returned? The house was in flames. And her parents? Nothing but a steaming pile left on the side of the path to the burning house. Devastated, Manii left with bitterness in her heart. Determined to find the people responsible for her parent’s demises. This is the first step to a new life Manii will need to learn and adapt too. One way or another.
