Physical Description:
Of a rather modest height for a giant, Saya actually doesn’t seem to be a member of any known giant race. She has none of the characteristic physical distortion or disregard for life of most giants, and appears to be naturally of her size. Standing about nine and a half meters tall, typical full-grown humans will come up to the middle of her shins. This makes her very agile for a ‘big person’, as she is as likely to accidentally ignore a human as the human is to accidentally ignore a slightly small dog or a cat- it only happens when she literally isn’t looking.

Saya’s face is round and clearly marks her as being a bit young, probably in her mid-to-late teens. Her cheekbones are low, her chin is shallow, and her nose is rounded. Her eyes are rounded, contributing to her almost childlike expression. Her straight hair is a pleasing shade of brown, and remarkably just as fine as human hair, meaning she has a lot more strands of hair than she perhaps ought to. Her skin is tanned from all the time she spends, by necessity, outdoors, and the green color of her eyes is the soft, dark tone of jade stone. Curiously, her ears are slightly pointed- though not elongated, at least not proportionately.

Her build is a bit heavy in the hips, but otherwise fairly slight for someone of her stature. She’s usually either smiling or looking just generally pleasant, and rarely scowls. She will frown from time to time, but that’s usually because she’s hunting a deer or somesuch so she can have enough meat to eat for the day. Her skin is smooth and unblemished despite the fact that she’s nearly always roughing it and uses a longbow. This is probably due to her incredible resilience- as part of what allows her to exist at her size and not collapse under her own weight, her body is extremely tough. Among other things, this means that arrows may as well be dull splinters, most small-arms fire isn’t going to actually break her skin, and it takes a small cannon to actually get her to bleed at all (or bruise if the projectile is a cannonball instead of a pointed shell). Her entire body is similarly resilient, so she can generally stop most fights simply by getting in the way and waiting for the combatants to tire themselves out.

Saya wears a huge but simple yukata kimono- she claims to not know where the style of garment comes from, only that it was supposed to her by a traveler ‘back when (she) was only as tall as two men’. Similarly, the man suggested that she use geta sandals rather than shoes or boots, so as to save on leather- and she has since used both forms of clothing. Saya occasionally also wears a pair of modified tabi socks, the knit cloth extending up to her thigh. She does not always have these on- it is difficult for her to clean them, as most dirt is far too small for her to see clearly thanks to her size.

A simple wooden headband carved from a single piece of an old tree helps hold her hair back, leaving only her bangs and a ‘tail’ from in front of either ear to hang about her face. The obi of her yukata is unpatterned like the garment itself, though it is a different shade of earthy brown. Her quiver hangs from her waist, containing never any less than a dozen arrows, each as thick as the arm of a normal human. Her bow is a longbow, even for someone of her stature, and the trees that contributed its three distinct pieces must have been quite large. The bowstring itself is thick as well, apparently woven from some kind of fiber.

She is never without her stuffed animal, Theo, a plush bear easily as large as most people. Theo has a simple collar, from which hangs a woven cornucopia of very high-quality make. Why it is there is anybody’s guess. Theo is often seen hanging from the same belt that supports Saya’s quiver.

Physiological Quirks: Extreme durability even for a giant, unique laugh (typical of giants from her origin world- in her case, she giggles rather than laughing, but it makes the sound ‘Naosususususu!’ Again, as typical of her world, this is a pun- ‘naosu’ means ‘heal in Japanese.), .

Personality/History:

Born on an obscure island in the Northern reaches of the North Blue, Saya was brought up in a village of giants far departed from the commonly-known Elbaf giants. For all that, though, giants are still people, and that means they are flawed. Norfolk giants are a clannish lot, and while the constant battle that Elbaf giants are so attuned to is not prevalant, families that dislike each other have very long-lasting arguments or feuds highlighted by much rarer but still quite bloody fights.

Born into a family on one side of such a feud, Saya found the entire idea of 'fight them because they fight us' unsatisfying and unpleasant. When she started questioning things at the age of six, she eventually found that nobody in her family could recall why they were fighting the Alzhya clan. This led the kind-hearted young giant to suggest coming to a truce and ending the conflict.

The suggestion was not well-recieved. While her family continued to support her, she was generally shunned and made fun of by the other children of her clan, and began spending more and more time alone in the woods of Norfolk island alone. This suited her clan quite well, as they no longer had to hear her requests to stop the fighting. It is for this reason that she was alone when she discovered a barrel washed ashore and ate the fruit contained within.

No longer able to swim, the growing young giant still found reason to set sail on a raft at the age of thirteen: the size of the island made it inevitable that she would have to either deal with the conflict between the clans in some capacity or leave. Leaving, she drifted across the North Blue for a time until she ran across a small island with a human village on it.

The farmers that made up most of the village of Bumbershoot were understandably wary, but it soon became known that the huge girl was, in fact, a huge young girl and not a marauding giant. She was taken in, to a certain extent, by the town militia. Using her size and durability, she helped to protect the farmers from the occasional wild animal attack and, on a few occasions, worked with the militia on protecting Bumbershoot from opportunistic raids by 'nobody' pirates.

This lasted for a few years, during which she developed the 'Giant Bunker Battle' fighting style to work with the town militia in defense of her new home.

Over time, though, she continued to grow, and by the time she was sixteen, she was eating so much food that she couldn't be supported as part of the village anymore. Worse, she found she was somehow bored with the way her life was going. Fueled by wanderlust and a desire to avoid ruining Bumbershoot with her appetite, Saya repaired and expanded her raft, and then set out to sea to find her fortune. As a last gift to her, the Bumbershootians gave her a brand-new longbow and arrows to replace the bow she had arrived with, which was by then in considerably less-than-stellar shape and almost too small for her besides.

Saya is a very gentle young woman, and going by her proportions and facial features she’s probably in her mid to late teens. This is a bit at odds with her mentality. When it comes to healing practices, she has an adeptcy with nature magic that far outstrips most of her apparent age- really a necessity given that most of those she has an opportunity to heal are considerably smaller than herself and so use of compresses and poultices would be difficult for her. Her gentle personality gives her a great bedside manner, with a tendency to treat her patients with a degree of reverence that falls just short of actual admiration.

The rest of the time, however, her mental age seems to fluctuate between roughly six and thirteen. She clings to her teddy bear like an emotional lifeline, and is very attached to it- simply soiling it can send her on a crying jag. She is very reluctant to hurt anything, despite the fact that she has to hunt meat for the sake of her own health, and walks with a careful tread that causes far fewer footprints and less noise than one would expect from her size. She tends to intercede in fights, generally by putting herself in the way, and try to convince those in conflict to resolve it without hurting one another.

Saya makes friends very easily, at least on her end, and is even more protective of those she likes. She will often cheerfully carry friends to places they’re going, as her size makes her a very quick traveler. The giantess often seems a bit ditzy, and tries to think the best of everyone, frequently to the point of deliberate obliviousness.

Psychological Quirks/Habits: Overly attached to Theo, goes to extreme lengths to prevent harm to others, naive, rather childish though not whiny, reluctant to fight or hurt anyone, exceptionally friendly, tendency to use 'giant' in place of emphasis words such as 'very', 'extremely', 'really', and 'super'.

Extraordinary Abilities:
*Magical Capability: Saya’s sole magical capability can be classified, when the setting applies, as the Devil Fruit ‘Byouin Byouin no Mi’- the Hospital Hospital Fruit.

In settings where Devil Fruit may not apply, she instead has an innate personal magic that relates to healing. Specifically, any living being that is in contact with her (not her clothing, but directly her) heals at a mildly increased rate, which improves further with more contact. Living beings that are inside her body somehow convalesce even faster, and those that do not naturally regenerate gain, for the duration, basic regenerative ability- roughly comparable to that of a typical lizard regrowing a lost limb or tail.

Saya has, at this point, gained access to some basic level capabilities from her Hospital Giant nature.

In a setting where Devil Fruit are not relevant, Saya instead has the general effect of accelerating healing and stabilizing the injured. Specifically, the closer the wounded party is to her, the stronger the effect. Contact with her hand can quickly result in the staunching of mild bleeding, extensive skin contact can prevent haemorrhaging and bleeding out and accelerate the rate of healing to up to three times normal rate. Should an injured person actually be contained within her body, they will heal much faster than normal, and if they do not have the capacity to regenerate normally, they will regenerate in a fashion akin to a lizard regrowing a lost limb or tail, although somewhat faster.

*Other Capability: Extremely durable, can ignore most mundane melee weapons and some small-arms fire. Knows some techniques that are a part of a combat style she is developing for herself, though the ‘technique’ quality of some of these is.... questionable.
