When kitsune come to mind, one may think of fearsome, godlike creatures with magical abilities almost as powerful as their rage and hostility. Needless to say, at the very least, kitsune are extremely dangerous and to be either worshipped or feared.

Haru's perfectly capable of performing powerful incantations leading to mass destruction as any kitsune is, and even has quite the powerful array of spells.

"But why would I want to do any of that?~"

Haru, however, is a much more gentle soul. He prefers warmth and affection much more than power. Why have people groveling at your feet, when you could be holding them in your arms instead, snuggling them into your warmth? Why have people come to you to worship you for your power, when you could have them come to you to shyly ask for a hug? Why would you want people to fear you, when they could admire and adore you instead? Love is the real ultimate power, and this fox has plenty of it to give~ So, unless it's needed, he ignores his power and divinity, and lives a normal life, simply wanting to enjoy himself, and to help others do the same. And his favorite way to do that is to cuddle~ He loves the feeling of someone in his arms, curled up against his chest and belly, safe and secure with him holding them. And with his slightly chubby figure, unbelievably soft fur, long fluffy tails, and total control over his tempature, there's no one better at snuggling then him.

No palace or temple is needed for this fox, just a cozy apartment. Sure, it's a penthouse, but who could turn down that view? The most extravagant possession that he has is his bed, a huge soft mattress with silky sheets and thick fluffy blankets.
