Do you know what Hana doesn't give a damn about? You.
Do you know what Hana doesn't care for? Your attitude.
Do you know what Hana's gonna smash with a lacrosse stick? Your stupid face.
There was a time when Hana Haruna was a sweet, kind, loving, and innocent young girl. But something happened one summer break that no one else at school is sure of, and Hana changed dramatically. Gone was the kind and polite girl that everyone knew, replaced with a vicious and violent hell raiser that hits first and asks questions maybe.
Hana has become leader of the local gang by cunning cleverness and simple dint of brute force. She doesn't take shit from anybody and crushes challenges to her authority alone with fingers and toes. She wields her authority like a club and is one of the worst kinds of leaders; a petty tyrant with something to prove to herself and others. She often puts down the weak to impress, intimidate, or bully those around her. Her gang has become the terror of the town and even the cops are having problems handling her.
No one's certain as to why she's taken to wearing the metal surgical mask over her face. Some say that it's to hide a hideously disfiguring scar she got in the incident that changed her. Others think that it's because she has a disease that's affecting her (thus the personality shift) and she needs to wear the mask to reduce the risk of contaminating others. A minority simply thinks it's to look tough.
Hana's weapons of choice are a battered lacrosse stick, thuggish brutality, and when she really wants to prove a point, a drive taser. It isn't exactly clear why Hana changed into the ogre that she is today and no one's managed to get a straight answer out of her... most just get a beating. Her gang's overall actions don't seem to have a clear purpose other then showing the general populous how tough or how powerful they are.
Ultimately, however, Hana is just a highschool kid with a wooden stick. There are strange and dark things out there in the world, many of them stronger, smarter, or just plain crueler then Hana is. At the end of the day, she's a small fish in a big pond, it's only a matter of time until she attempts to assert her strength over something that she can't.
