Meet Guleg, the Rat King (She's a girl, she just thinks King sounds cooler.)

Bio:

The path to power is not the same for everyone. Some claim it by right; others, by merit; still more by force or scheme. For Guleg, it was a matter of listening to her gut.
Though her origins are not certain, she and her disciples claim to be wererats: people cursed to transform into scraggly half-rat creatures. Whether she is right or not, Guleg claims to be the first of her kind, a human who became permanently transformed and fled to the far off Venom Island. There, unable to cope with the new, voracious hunger within her, she bit into everything and everyone she could find. Some, she swallowed whole, depositing them on her ever-growing midriff. Others, she disliked the taste of, and left to nurse their wounds. As a result of Guleg's bite, these victims too became wererats, and thus, quite by accident, the first rat became a sovereign.
Guleg's empire is now feared by the other natives of Venom Isle. To become a wererat is seen in these cultures as worse than death, and the afflicted often have no choice but to run off and join Guleg's kingdom. As for Guleg herself, she enjoys the surprising loyalty of her people, but she is never idle. Girl's gotta eat, after all.
