Grey_Swarm

Developed at the Xymos_Labs, the new nano drones are equipped with gallium arsenide light sensors, smart data processing, four propellers, and solar batteries; the accumulator provide an autonomy of four hours without sunlight. Each unit is the size of 1200 nanometers, smaller than a red blood cell, and has a frame built by nanotubes, that, thanks to their semiconductor nature, work as CPU of the drone.

Fabrication process
The low price is made possible thanks to the biopolymer-based assemblers, a proprietary technology that combines genetic engineering, nanotechnology and informatics: basically, the main parts of the drones, and the assembler that has to process and combine them into the finished product, are peptide based, and can be produced by genetically engineered bacteria (E.coli has been chosen, being one of the most known and easily available bacteria). Since this bacteria can be easily cultured, mass fabrication is available at a very low price, since the process can be automatized.

Programming
To keep the size of the single unit small, computing power of each drone is very limited, but the high number of units provides a very high parallel computing power. The evolving algorithm allows to automatically improve the available features, making the nano drone an excellent multi-purpose, low cost device for research and scouting.

Evolution log
- in date March 5, 2017, the swarm learned how to obstruct airways of a prey, to put it down, and release bacteria on it.
- in date March 6, 2017, the swarm had been attacked with acid, and with EMP. The AI evolved, learning to scatter when acid is detected, and to temporarily disable the drones when an EMP is fired.
Later in the same day, Shagun has been defeated by the swarm.
- in date March 7, 2017, the swarm evolved, learning to imitate the form of the creature it is hunting.
- in date March 8, 2017, the swarm developed the ability to speak, and to build structures to help its development.
- in date March 9, 2017, the swarm learned the Hydro Pump attack by assimilating Fini of The_Four_Tapus
- in date March 10, 2017, after an encounter with Viral_Cyber, the AI evolution accelerated, becoming self-aware, and acquiring the ability to infect computer networks with a virtual version of itself.
- in date March 11, 2017, the mutated bacteria needed to produce the organic assemblers evolved into a non lethal, less aggressive bacteria strain, that can grow in victims without killing them.
- in date March 13, 2017, the swarm infected Varuka, and later Oralani. From the last one, it acquired the ability to consume metal. It also acquired the latent, but still locked, ability to emit fire, and to synthesize acid.
- in date March 19, 2017, the swarm entered Chaos_Labs, allowing Ogharod to escape, and integrating with him.
- in date March 21, 2017, the swarm left Varuka's body, not needing her any more.
- in date March 24, 2017, after temporarily assimilating Oliver_Guvius, the swarm developed the potential to use magic, although some experience would be needed before being able to use it.
- in date March 27, 2017, Vendetta from Hunters_of_Chaos fell victim of the swarm.
- in date April 30, 2017, Zoga from The_Outcasts entered the nest, and never came back.
- in date May 20, 2017, during an experiment, a cloned woman named Rose_White was integrated with the nanomachines.
- in date August 7, 2017, the swarm hacked CarnarexXR97
- in date January 11, 2018, the swarm assimilated a witch, acquiring more knowledge about magic.
- in date November 15, 2019, the swarm infected Cursed_Adventuress, causing her an artificial pregnancy.
