"War changes people. For some it changes them from ordinary men to trained killers to fight for a cause that few believe in. For others it changes them into shells of their former selves. As for me...."

The aircraft carrier designated as Graf Zeppelin stared at a photograph of a tall young man with a boyish smile. He seemed so carefree, which indicated that the photo was from a happier time. A gloved hand touched the photograph longingly before setting it back on the desk in her private quarters.

"The war has changed me in ways that no one could ever imagine. Before the onset of this new enemy the men were the ones drafted for combat but not anymore. Now it is the women who fight this enemy from the depths of the sea. It was because of this change that scientists endeavored to find ways to artificially create those that could fight."

Where pectorals should have been, huge mounds of fat reside there now. The pysique she was so proud of in days gone by was now replaced with the softness of a woman's curves. It was for a good cause but sometimes she could not help but regret her choice to volunteer. She was the only success of the program and it was shut down shortly after her 'rebirth' as Graf Zeppelin.

"Mother, while grateful that I am still alive, misses her son. To hold the boy that she gave birth to instead of the woman he had become to help support her. Father...I fight to hold back tears whenever I think of how disappointed he must be in me. His only son participating in a war not meant for him because he is unable to find work."

Not all women in this fleet were created equal. Most of the women here were natural born, just modified and given a penis for some reason or another. In Graf's case...a young man, that had just recently reached adulthood, transformed into a pure woman. She never understood the science behind it and even after the transformation occurred, it took several days for her to accept that she had become something she was meant to pursue.

"I can only hope that this war does not change me any further for I have already paid a steep price. The young man with eyes full of hope is dead. In his place is the woman meant to serve as the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin."

For those of you wondering, this is very much a Kancolle account but a unique spin on one given that there isn't too much backstory to go on in the mobile game. Long story short, it's a Graf Zeppelin character with a genderbender backstory. Working off of this backstory is not necessary for play but it would be a nice point to include.

Resident of The_Docks I have a weakness for genderbend backstories.
