Glenmael
We can't help who our parents are.... or what they do to bring us about. Glenmael's not really got any complaints, either. Of course, when mom and dad make your life, and said life happens to give you any number of goodies, you don't have MUCH reason to complain, now do you?
Glenmael is half-fae, and obviously so. His ears are pointed, and elfin, while his eyes are an inhuman shade. He's tough, too, not really taking much damage from anything that doesn't contain iron.... which has led to some interesting speculation on his part. Part of him has wondered what it would be like to be a superhero. However, that's not something he CAN do....you see, he was snatched up at a young age by the Venatori Umbrorum, the Hunters of Shadows.
See.... changelings aren't exactly uncommon, but Glen lost his parents at a young age. His mom raised him, up to a point, but then there was an unexplained fire. He cycled through a few foster homes for a couple of years, before being picked up, and then he enjoyed a sort of boarding-school lifestyle. Small classes, only instead of just academics, they had very intensive PE, and weapons training. Glen excelled at these, more than the academics, but he had an intuitive grasp of some of their more esoteric studies.
The end result, some ten years later, is Glenmael as he is now. Intelligent, friendly, educated in more than a few areas dealing with explosives, guns, and bladed weapons, and with a firm grasp on a few rituals any mortal can prepare and accomplish, as well as the basic weaknesses of any given monster type. See, that's what the Venatori do... they hunt monsters.
Still, the main benefit of the Venatori is that they work with other groups. Often, they don't NEED anyone with Glenmael's training. However, they DO need a few people with his abilities, and he's one of their best. He's often fulfilling more of an ambassadorial role, though, as there isn't too much call for him to hunt monsters very often. Better to have him deal with the supernatural nasties they do business with instead, just in case things go wrong. Of course, this means he knows plenty about supernatural etiquette, as well... hm.
Anyway. He tries to be as normal as possible, but he finds it a bit futile, really. He enjoys books more than TV or video games(Strategy games are entertaining, though, if a bit limited), and he really enjoys keeping himself busy, athletically, or with a bit of gardening Odd, a little, but really, he doesn't mind. He's not normal, and he knows it.
