Overseers...the culmination of everything that makes up the entirety of every single possible universe and reality. They have existed since pre-existence...bringing about all that is and ever will be in every single timeline, reality, and so forth. Without them, the world would be reduced to state of beyond nothingness and beyond even their own understanding. They exist everywhere and are always present whether one cares to notice or not.
Are they gods?
No. They are something beyond even the scope of that. They are beyond even the scope of the elder and outer gods from other dimensions. In short, there is no higher being than what they are and will ever be.
There was once something beyond nothing...since nothing really had not come into existence yet. Then came the Overseers...12 of them to be exact. They created their own selves and their corporeal bodies in order for others to see them and off course bestow upon the nothing a substance...then they created all realities as we know it. All universes. All possible histories and outcomes. It is all known to them. Every single life that exists they know of...but they each have their limits as each Overseer adheres to whatever role as Overseer they were gifted with.

Gitremiques...Overseer of the two things that comprise humanity's makeup; Pain and the Soul. The soul is a thing of intangible beauty and it is what makes one oneself and once it is gone, it is impossible to either be one's self anymore or cease to even be.
But a soul never truly goes away. One is led to believe as such by the very Overseer in charge of them all. For you see...it is Gitremiques who controls every single possible soul in every reality and timeline to be. They provide them with new fleshy bodies or let them exist as is then sends them out into whatever reality they deem it worthy enough for.
Gitremiques is also aware of the deals made with souls as well as the fate of a soul should it be absorbed, destroyed, or consumed. A soul can never truly be destroyed...but it can be scattered and with that, it takes time to reconstitute its essence...but otherwise doable. It is all about catching this flippant Overseer in the mood.
They love to make deals with retrieving or constituting souls...but as always it comes with a price. If ever someone finds one own soul is destroyed (and if the Overseer is in a playful mood) Gitremiques may just give them their body back. But this comes with an initial cost of being a devoted servant of the Overseer. The rest gets determined by them on a whim.
They are also quite familiar with pain and all the things associated with it. This goes for every form of pain from physical to astral pain...they know how to inflict it masterfully. But this is neither here nor there. If you find yourself without a body...a scattered soul with no home...or an absorbed one that wishes to be free...seek out this Overseer and they will grant you your wish.

Soul Obliteration
Gitremiques it the only one capable of making a soul truly exempt from any reality. They can and will, upon command, devour a soul in the most profound way and keep it inside their body...and digest it to make it part of themselves...part of their body in the truest fashion imaginable.
Soul Revival
If one thinks they have digested or destroyed/absorbed one's soul....think again. At the cost of becoming a servant of Gitremiques for eternity and beyond, one can revive in a new body with their soul intact and very much in one piece. However...they might also ask for more.
Some who revive/reform themselves might have made contact with the entity and not even realize it. These are mostly ones who Gitremiques watches and observes for a chance to snatch up a chance to make a deal with them.
Omnipain
Imagine the most tremendous amount of pain one can endure. Now imagine that pain but multiplied by the intensity one would feel that would be enough to kill something. Now picture all of that but increase it further by the agonizingly painful feeling of what a limb feels like to be slowly melted away...or chewed upon. Now think of it happening to countless beings all at once and you'll be reaching the trillionth digit of a whole numbered percentile in the kind of pain this Overseer can inflict when they're not even trying to even try. They can literally increase pain of any kind to degrees unfathomable by any known creature. They are also aware of the pain threshold of each being they can encounter...and will likely know exactly where to push them into...and this goes for mental pain as well.
Basically...they know how much one can tolerate before breaking.
Soul Shattering
This comes about if one upsets this powerful entity. It can be the littlest thing and they will unleash this art. This makes it so that when something is reformed, it creates a 'crack' in their soul. With time, if a certain preordained amount is reached, their soul will be unable to reform the body and their soul will be devoured by the entity to never return, digested into a soft palpable essence to enjoy.
Transcendent Visage
They usually refer to themselves without any gender-specific pronouns but appear to be female. As such, they often times appear differently for they have many forms like other Overseers but their main one seems to be a favorite. When they wish it, they can be any gender and will then, and only then, refer to themselves as a male or female.
