When the great witch discovered that she wanted to have children after having sacrificed most of her functioning organs in order to live forever, she recanted her previous statements that creating fully-sentient beings with free will of their own was the frivilous work of fools. The woman worked tirelessly to create what she wanted most; a daughter that would stay her daughter forever... Of course, the process wouldn't have at all been rewarding if the thing had no choice but to love and adore her, so she imbued more anima in this particular doll than she would have for any of her other constructs.

For a while, she knew nothing, but very gradually, her creator taught her, as she had the potential to learn. It took some years for her to learn everything she needed and to also develop her own personality, but in the end the witch was... Mostly pleased. True, the construct she had come to name Fuyu was a being of free will and had also decided to call her "Mother," but the act of parenting was not always easy. Fuyu was not the affectionate and loving thing that the Witch wanted her to be. No, she was often rebellious and cold instead, as many teenagers are.

In addition to her rough exterior and bristly personality, the doll the witch created to be her daughter needed to continuously ingest souls in order to retain consciousness and her memory. It was incredibly tedious, for the witch herself didn't need to consume anything in order to go on living and hadn't for so long that it was quite difficult to adjust to the new responsibility of keeping her artificial daughter "fed." In the end, the witch decided it'd be adventageous to teach her construct-daughter how to harvest souls on her own as she needed. It was an incredibly difficult task, as the doll did not seem to have any innate talent regarding harnessing and utilising magical abilities, but after nearly two decades of teaching her, Fuyu finally managed to be able to feed self-sufficiently.

To the dismay of the witch, despite what she had perceived as an emotional connection with her daughter wasn't as so. As soon as the doll was left to her own devices with regards to feeding, she went on a frenzy, gorging herself with souls and thus also increasing her capacity to contain them and use them to power herself. The more she ate, the better she felt. This all culminated with Fuyu coming to a dangerous conclusion: if all of these plain human souls are so good, she couldn't imagine how good the aged soul of an eternally youthful, incredibly powerful witch would be. In the end, Fuyu gave up on the farce and consumed the soul of her creator.
