Species: Arcanine (Anthracite Enhanced)
Type: Fire-type Legendary Canine Pokemon
Nature: Brash (Arrogant, confident, headstrong, impulsive.)
Hold Item: Anthracite (Ingested)
Height: 7'2 (Anthro), 6'4 (Head height, Feral)
Weight: 520 lbs. (Both forms. It makes sense, really.)
Likes: A good meal, competition, the adulation of a crowd, the attention of a lovely lass, good grooming.
Dislikes: Fruit and vegetables, psychics and psychic-types, people with bark and no bite.
Preferred Moves:

Crunch- A powerful Dark-type move, where Flashfire bites with smoky fangs, which can inflict massive damage, and rend the defense of it's target!

Extreme Speed- An attack that turns his unbelievable agility into a weapon, hurling himself into enemies at speeds that are hard to follow. Also allows him to avoid being hit, or minimize damage he takes from attacks.

Flamethrower- Summoning fire from the depths of his being, Flashfire unleashes it in a stream, igniting combustible materials and causing serious harm to anyone who's hit by it.

Flare Blitz- His signature attack. Flashfire combines his devastating speed and his elemental affinity for fire to charge into someone while aflame himself, causing tremendous damage, and possibly igniting his adversary. The only downside is the attack is so powerful, he hurts himself when he uses it.

About Flashfire:

Flashfire is the firstborn of a litter of six. And was a troublemaker from the time he was barely standing. Known for burning his pen down not once, but twice, before he was given away, it was plain from a young age that he'd either be a talented partner to a trainer, or an uncontrollable mess.

Luckily, he was given to Carmine Everett, and the two bonded almost immediately. Under Carmine's care, the young Growlithe learned discipline and control (but not too much, that'd cramp his style!). His training started young, when he worked as a herd-dog, guiding and protecting flocks of Mareep that Carmine's parents owned. Such jobs required teamwork and endurance, and he worked hard until he could do them perfectly.

Eventually, it came time for Carmine to set out on his Pokemon Journey. With a backpack and Flashfire, he set out from home. Flashfire readily put himself in harm's way to protect his trainer. While they weren't always victorious, occasionally biting off more than they could chew against some of the powerful Gym Leaders, they persevered, and improved.

Carmine gave Flashfire a present on his 12th birthday, wrapped in foil and everything. A glittering red stone, shaped like flames. An evolution stone, one that would turn Flashfire from the reliable, but somewhat underwhelming Growlithe, into the legendary Arcanine, a fierce and powerful partner fit for a trainer as loyal as Carmine. Flashfire was only too happy to accept, gulping the stone down.

The change was swift, painful, and permanent. He grew in size, strength and speed, matched only by his gain in appetite and intelligence. And while he still respects and values Carmine, he knew, from then on, he wasn't going to be the same.

His life since then hasn't been all roses and sunshine. Carmine gave up on his dream to become the Pokemon Master, instead taking up a position as Ace Trainer for a time, the tenure of which Flashfire was called on to hone his skills, as Ace Trainers are expected to be the best of the best, when called to duel another trainer. So he learned, and improved his skills, growing faster, kindling his flames hotter, and learning to hate Psychic-types, in an episode of his life he prefers not to talk about.

Carmine eventually hung up his Ace Trainer hat, and took on the mantle of a Pokemon Ranger, which suited Flashfire fine. He got more freedom to roam the countryside, and still competed in tournaments from time to time, to keep his skills sharp.

But the turning point didn't come until a few years later, once they'd settled into a routine. That was when Flashfire was offered a gift. A strange stone, notable for being similar in properties to Eviolite, but somewhat odder. A stone, that once taken, would give Flashfire his independence, and make him more than he already was.

Anthracite.

And that's where his story really begins.

About Anthracite

Anthracite is an extremely rare variety of the stone Eviolite. Eviolite is notable for strengthening the abilities and defenses of Pokemon who are not yet fully evolved. Anthracite is somewhat... different.

When held (or consumed) by a Pokemon that has reached it's full evolution (especially those evolved by Evolution Stones), it causes a strange reaction in their bodies, and allows them to assume a more humanoid form, granting speech and increased intelligence in the bargain. Few trainers use it, as they risk their partners deciding to become independent, and follow their own paths.

If worn in jewelry, it's effects last until removed, which means that the effects of it can be ended just by stealing the jewelry in question. If the stone is consumed, it can never be used by another Pokemon, but it's effects are permanent for the one who consumes it, granting them the ability to shift forms at a moment's notice, and to keep their increased intellect and ability to speak even when 'feral'.

Flashfire, Independent Arcanine

Flashfire, now on his own, tends to wander, much as he did when he was Carmine's partner. As such, he's often seen out and about, nothing but a backpack and the clothes on his back, and his hat, which he fashioned after Carmine's own. If it's classy, it's classy, after all. No matter what your species.

Flashfire is possessed of a high metabolism, thanks to his incredible body temperature, and high muscle mass. As such, he's something of a glutton, be he walking about on two legs or four. He'll take as much food as he can get. And he can get a lot. Big, strong, fast and well-trained, he's anyone's nightmare for fending off a predator. And that's not even counting the flames that are second-nature to him.

It's not all bad. He's still cocky, self-assured and impulsive, and is a friendly sort, most times, just as happy to meet new people and enjoy himself as anything else. That said, he does have a bit of a short fuse, and there's a few things that can set him off real quick. Not that he's dumb enough to tell people what they are!

But, there's the evidence of what could happen to you if you go pissing him off.. Or just look delicious. Or filling.
