Ferida's a fighter. It's not hard to figure out, if you look at her. Her physique, wrought for combat, belies her longstanding interest in the martial arts, of which she practices several. She grew up as a tomboy, taking on her hard-drinking Irish father's penchant for solving disputes the old-fashioned way. Ferida got her start as a fighter in her teenage years, during that inevitable rebellious phase. After her family fell on hard times, one or two of her friends at the time who knew about her natural penchant for bloodying noses pointed her to a particular ring, organized by folk of less-than-good-repute. That didn't end very well. Owing money to the wrong people, her parents' disappointment, the whole shebang. It was a wake-up call. One that would never turn her away from fighting. But one that would put her on the level, at least. It's been a good number of years since then. What she does, she does on the level. And she does it well, to boot. She's managed to rack up a nice collection of awards and accolades for her performances. She holds an interest in different forms of fighting from around the world, seeing hand-to-hand combat as an excellent way to experience other cultures. As a result, she's adept at several different methods, predominantly kickboxing, but also including Taekwondo and Judo. Lately, she's acquired a fascination with CQC, after having played a fairly popular tactical-stealth game in her free time. As one might expect from someone who prefers talking with their hands, Ferida isn't exactly what you'd call eloquent. She's rather gruff, and in interpersonal interactions, she seems to favor bluntness and total honesty, frequently discarding the notions of discretion or tact. She's not unintelligent by any stretch of the imagination, however. Her softspoken English mother was a bookseller, so in spite of herself, she wound up with an interest for reading when she wasn't knocking heads together. To some, approaching her might feel akin to rubbing up against a wall made of sandpaper. This is intentional, as it tends to weed out anyone with a weak constitution or a lack of resolve. Those that stick around usually end up getting to see the hidden teddy bear within, albeit one that can break you a dozen different ways. They also tend to see that she's quite a maneater. Literally! All too often, she'll pummel her opponents into submission before packing them down into her stomach as a much-needed protein boost. Playful wresting matches between friends end with those friends being eaten just as frequently, but they can count themselves lucky. Chances are she's just going to have them sleep over at her place that night. She can be a bit of a bully to weaker, mild-mannered guys. They find themselves stuffed behind those powerful abs frequently! Really, though, she finds them kinda cute, and hopes that ribbing, powerful chokeholds, and tummy-stays might help them find their backbone. She respects strength a great deal. Encountering someone stronger than she is can catch her off-guard and make her lose her composure. When this happens, however, she frequently feels the drive to improve herself in order to defeat her newfound rival. And then possibly gulp them down to cement her conquest~
