I was once one of heaven's most beautiful angels. I was sent down to the Earth on a mission of mercy. I was to intervene in the lives of the world's most wicked hearts, to stay their hands and bring them back to the light. If I could not sway their hearts, then I was instructed to not lay a hand upon them, to leave their souls for judgment at the highest order when the time was right. Except in the cases of the most wicked. Those who were too evil to be allowed to continue to live amongst their fellow man needed to be removed before they could do more harm. It was a wicked task to give to a beautiful angel, and not one that I looked forward to. I did not intend to pass final judgment on anyone unless it was truly the only option.
More than 100 years passed before I finally found a sinner who was such a threat to the rest of the mortal world. I hesitated, delaying judgment for as long as I could. But eventually, I could wait no longer. The time had come.
I consumed him.
And to my own horror, I enjoyed it. Much too much.
My own descent from grace began that day. From that time forward, I punished all sinners that I encountered. Each day that passed compounded my own sin, as I disobeyed my divine edict.
Then came the day that I consumed a righteous woman who had not sinned.
I knew that she was an innocent. But I was too overcome by lust to let her pass me by. In doing so, I condemned myself. I can never return to heaven now. But I care not.
There are still too many sinners here for me to save. So much farther for me still to fall.
