Some beasts try to hide their form in whatever vessel they take. Some make it obvious that that's not their intent - they're using it like an angler fish's bulb. Certain ones use it as a signal to whoever they're after that the show's over.

This...force of nature, as it would appear, is known simply as Mark, one of those certain ones. Those who come witness to what he does, know that name is slang for many things. Mark of Death is usally the most common way to adress this soul somewhere between dragon and human.

If you feel as if you're being watched, take a glance around at your surroundings. Keep an eye on the shadows, as Mark normally lurks in them. In the likely event that the shadows keep their eye(s) on you, do not panic. It'll be a while before anything notable happens, so take a breather and make sure you're with good company. And a lot of it, this is mandatory for your (questionable) safety. Gradually, your company will deplete. Headlines will probably dictate they disappeared or something of the like, most likely in isolation.

Once, given an unknown amount of time, you will soon find yourself alone. Stay home for as long as you can, become extremely resourceful with what you've got on hand - it's not a wise idea to go roaming all willy-nilly. Alone does mean truly alone - go out and you will find no one, except for a person or people of questionable origin, in a place you won't be aware of. Be sure to stay away from whoever you might see, trust no one you do see, and run from those who want to see you.

Mark can manifest in multiple people, multiple forms, but it's easy to tell something is very wrong. Mark usually unveils himself once some obvious signals whoever else is there isn't quite human are shown. A quirk of his manifestations to keep in mind is that whoever his chosen victim is is "researched" for a good while. Any obstructions between him and his prey...well, are disposed of in any way possible. Or simply taken control of...any method he can use to get whoever he has his eyes on alone with him he usually uses.

Whether that looks like on just suggesting to them through the vessel of another that they should go out alone or making quite sure they're not with anyone...seems to just depend on his whims.

Be vigilant, look unremarkable, lay low - do whatever you can to avoid catching his eyes.

One you do, pray to whatever deity you believe in that you are sorely uninteresting to him, or else he's going to prize you.

And no one, not a single soul should have to endure what happens when Mark gets his eyes on his prize.
