Exactly when Eri came into being is unknown but it is belived that she was born in Japan sometime during the 12th century. Her blade, Shirubāraito has been said to keep evil spirits at bay. As time passed her homeland went through many changes, many conflicts and many years. She retained her youth and beauty and lived on for centuries eventually forggeting her exact age after about 300 years. But all the same she enjoyed life on her mountain home and the occasional offerings from the village bellow. Eventually people came from across the sea and her homeland opened its borders after a long peiord of isolation. What interested Eri about this was one of the creatures that came over with the forigners. Something unlike anything she had seen before, at the time she couldn't describe the creature but later learned it was called a Wendigo. This is when Eri found the legends about her blade where true, the creature refused to approach. Sensing the malice in the creature Eri kept a close eye on it and when it did finally strike making a meal of a local villager, Eri struck it down. She was familliar with the various Yokai of her homeland but knew many of them kept to themselves. This encounter convinced Eri to travel to other lands to hunt down evil spirits and creatures of other lands, always leaving behind a talisman on the homes that house her in her travels to keep evil spirits away
