The marriage of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor began as a happy one. Most thought it would last an eternity. But times change, and sometimes stallions become bored... Such was the case with the lustful former guard captain turned prince...
When Cadence became princess of the Crystal Empire, she no longer had the free time she once did to spend with her beloved, as it was now occupied with royal business. Luna and Shining fled, leaving Cadence alone to weep... But Luna's defensive attack had done more damage than she had originally thought... A bit of the force that had infected Luna a thousand years ago had somehow gotten in that attack, and just as it had corrupted her into Nightmare Moon, it was now feeding off of Cadence's sadness and despair, filling her mind with thoughts of revenge, and something greater... She soon wasn't content with just getting back at Shining Armor and Princess Luna for what they had done to her; as her body began to blacken with dark energy, she proclaimed that all of Equestria would know her pain--the pain of... Heartbreak!!!
Heartbreak's first act was to shatter the Crystal Heart and forge its remains into her new armor. Without its power, the Crystal Empire soon began to sink back into the state it was in under Sombra's rule... It wasn't long before the effects of this change were felt throughout Equestria, forcing Luna and Shining to admit to what they had done... Shining was disgraced and removed from his position as prince and as captain of the royal guard, but Luna had to endure an even worse punishment--disappointment from her sister, Celestia, and the tremendous guilt that it brought... She confined herself to her room, not even finding solace in her newfound love of video games, often times found laying on her bed with her face half-buried in her pillow when Celestia came to give her a meal or try to comfort her... It was as if Luna was so broken by guilt that she could no longer feel love...
Like a changeling, Heartbreak feeds on an aspect of ponies' emotions, her emotion being that of lust. Unlike a changeling, she doesn't stop... Anypony under her spell will be drained of their lust until there is nothing left, becoming an emotionless husk, or even worse, having their lust altered and returned to them as raw hate! Heartbreak can also read a pony's mind to find out who they lust after the most, and shapeshift accordingly to feed off their lust. However, if she encounters a pony with a massive amount of lust to give her, she won't be content with just draining the pony of lust; she'll want it all, body and soul! To accomplish this, Heartbreak will devour the pony, usually whole and alive, sometimes seducing them into willing snacks, other times enjoying their unwilling squirms of desperation as they slide down her throat to her waiting belly... She has been known to ingest them by other means, such as her plot and even snorting a few micro ponies and Breezies in through her nose! She does love to experiment... However, only those that prove themselves devoted pets to Her Majesty will get the honor of being taken into her divine marehood, either turned into royal nectar or even her own little prince or princess...
