Origin of the Shade family and the art of Shadowmancy

Emily Anna-belle Shade of the house Shade, a prestigious family lineage spanning all the way back to the 13th century, it has always been rumoured that this family is not cut of the same cloth as humanity. To begin with they seemingly spawned from nowhere, rolled into England on a boat carrying exceptional wealth and constructed a large isolated manor high atop the nearby cliff-side, overlooking the ocean and local fishing village. People questioned who they were and where they came from, when spoke to, their accents appeared to be English in origin which should be impossible considering they only just arrived. They seemed like a rather gallant family however, very charitable and welcoming...on the exterior.

More rumours spread, ever since the families arrival strange occurrences began to frequent, a best sighting here, a missing person there, but the Shade family were never proven to be behind this, seemingly having no involvement in any of it. That was until one fateful eve, the moon hung above the manor like a silver omen, masked by a crawling mire of the blackest clouds, the manor seemed to pulse with some sickening aura, this was proof enough for the superstitious village folk, they took torch and pitchfork in hand and marched up to the manor, convinced that the family were practising some form of ritual, how right they were.

The doors burst open, a miasma of shadow appendages spilled forth towards the crowd, drowning them in a demonic wave of malicious hatred, their flesh was wrenched from their forms, arms and legs wrenched from their sockets and tossed into the night air, skulls and spines split and ground into dust and debris, corpses dragged casually into the manor where the family stood, absorbing their forms, consuming their souls, damning them to an eternity of nightmares in a realm beyond human comprehension, these nightmares would feed the Shade's dark powers, grant them strength and sate a very primal hunger.

Word soon reached the monarchy, extreme action was taken, a paladin of incredible holy power, a hunteress born of the dragon-blood, and a mysterious warrior of wolf form, the three of them were sent to cut down the putrid corruption of the Shade's.

They nearly succeeded, however anticipating this, head of the household Alistar Shade sent his daughter who was carrying a child in her womb away before the heroes arrived, saving his lineage and the art of Shadowmancy, the manor was purified and the remaining family cut down....but now

Modern Day

In the 21st century lives a woman by the name of Emily Anna-belle Shade, the descendant of the Shade family lineage, she has returned to the manor left behind for her and learned her hidden art, and now she too has that hunger within her, the need to feed on the minds, bodies and souls of those around her.

Abilities

.Shadow Manipulation

The ability to (as named) manipulate shadows, the power allows Emma to use any form of shadow cast by any individual as a living weapon, changing it's properties at will.

.Darkness Conjuring

Even if there are no shadows for Emma to manipulate Emma can create her own darkness, this can be additional appendages sprouting from her body or suspended darkness that is separate from her form that can be used as weaponry or projectiles.

.Silver Moon's Kiss

Emma can sire people to her command if she so desires with a simple kiss that will break their will and force them to love and follow her.

.Summoning

Emma can summon forth anyone she has consumed and recall them at will.

.Body of Night

Emma's body can change consistency, it can become a thick, viscous black slime that can melt away into shadows and absorb prey, additionally Emma can become Darkness itself and convert her whole body into dark matter.
