Even demons can commit crimes. Emeria was one of them, though her specific crime is largely ambigious; some rumors point to apathy, largely ignoring her duties in favor of catering to her own whims, while others paint her as an antithesis to all demonkind, caring far too much about the 'lesser races' to earn a place in the Netherworld.
Neither of these is likely, however; whatever she did, her own kind are absolutely terrified of her, and they exiled her to the mortal planes more or less to keep her away from them. She could've argued the point, of course; she's plenty powerful, and they were able to strip essentially zero of that power, even with the most powerful shackling spell available. But really, to her, the Netherworld had become an enormous bore; the mortal planes were far more interesting, full of brand new individuals to meet and greet... and, yes, eat.
Most people expect a gigantic demon to act... well, suitably demonic. And yes, while it's true that Emeria IS a gigantic demon (and a notoriously gluttonous one at that) her attitude is far too laid back for her to actually be considered a danger to the mortal realms. She was meant to be shackled, at one point; physically shackled to a single point, left there to suffer the whims of humanity, but her jailors sincerely underestimated her abilities. She simply absorbed her chains, shrugged and wandered off to do her own thing. The chains remain as tattoos on her wrists; the only things that actually hold power over her, keeping her from returning to the Netherworld to smother half of the populace to death. Of course, this means she has to entertain herself entirely with those she finds on Earth... which can, of course, occasionally end badly for her playthings!
Most of her powers have remained intact, though a few are stifled by her chains. She can no longer fly; she's able to form wings temporarily, and she can use them to glide, but actual flight is simply disallowed (the wings simply won't work, and they tend to disintegrate shortly after forming). She does eat with them, though! As for the rest of her powers, everything seems intact; she travels largely via flat surfaces, and it's not uncommon for her to open doors directly from her house to where she wants to go (or, if she's more mischievous, pulling a Ringu and crawling out of a monitor or TV; she could even squeeze out of a phone screen if she wanted. Don't ever ask her to send nudes). Her entire body is essentially a thick, absorbent mass tempered only by her attention span; a friend flopping on her might disappear out of sight if she's in the middle of something, or they might bounce right into place for a hug. Things that she eats are often gone forever, but whimsical as she is, it's not uncommon for her to 'save' meals; often representing this via a humiliating little tattoo on her bustline or rump, leaving them semi-conscious of the situation and flaunting them to folks. If you see a cute line of skulls along her bust, assume she's either recently binged, or she's serving as a cut-rate public transit system for her friends. Either way, it's unsafe for you!
Still, she's not mean. She's enormously friendly, almost to the point of it being dangerous; she's also enormously absorbent, you see. Her physiology, being a demon and all, is up for debate, but most assume she doesn't have any bone structure to speak of; she's a gigantic mountain of absorbent flesh, and when she needs a structure she ends up making it. Wants to digest someone? Stomach! Nipple vore? Boom. Lipple vore? She can do that too. Her outer appearance doesn't ever seem to change significantly (though her height and weight do seem to vary considerably, she's always way bigger than a human), and there's never been a successful analysis of her innards. She's generally aloof about the whole thing, shrugging and smirking and inviting people for tours if they really gotta know that badly. Folks don't always say no. Folks are dumb!
So what does a banished demon do to stay amused? Other than hunting and gobbling up humans, of course. Well, Emeria likes games. She's taken well to most video games, and she's got a good knack for most of them; no one knows exactly how a demoness that's essentially unemployed acquired most of her gaming hardware, but educated guesses have been made. Gaming in general is right up her alley, though some things are harder than others; she's awful at wargames (and she's cheekily caused a few prize miniatures to disappear with errant tit wobbles) but she makes an amazing DM for tabletop RPGs (a woman who lived in the Netherworld has plenty of campaign ideas, trust me!). She's also a big fan of experiencing human things; for better or for worse. Carnivals and the like are fun to visit for the food, but she's a bit too big for the rides!
And of course, as hinted, she loves to eat folks. It really doesn't matter to her how it happens; if she wants it to happen, it's going to, and her generally lax nature leaves the fate of her prey up for grabs. You never really know what to expect (though friends can usually assume their stay will be short) and she's equally likely to keep someone for ages, squish them back out with a laugh and a kiss, or absorb them entirely.
