If a demand of the market is left unmet by legal trade, it's only natural that the black market will fill the void. History has proven this time and time again: drink, gambling, weapons, sex. If people want it, they'll find a way to pay for it.



Eliza lives in a parallel dimension just a few threads separate from ours. A universe where everyone is aware of cannibalism, but not quite a universe where everyone is comfortable with it. In fact, enough people are uncomfortable enough with it that it is very, very illegal. Although it is ostensibly the same as murder, due to the delicious taste of flesh, eating a peer is socially more comparable to doing very hard drugs. Certainly taboo but, fortunately or unfortunately, nobody would be shocked to death to learn their neighbor partook- unless they found out first hand, of course.



So, about that black market. In this reality, a cannibal chef is often, alternatingly, something like a moonshiner, assassin, or sex worker. Many operate secret speakeasy restaurants or delis that serve forbidden meat behind firmly closed doors, many more will make a meal of anyone you desire for the right price, and some will service the poor souls who WANT to be eaten, dominating them into the frying pan. Eliza has, in her life, been all three. But it's hard to participate in such a trade, one often associated with organized crime, without making more than a few enemies, all of whom would love to give her a taste of her own medicine.



Some scene ideas (just springboards, of course):

-On the Job: Eliza is hired as a hungry hitwoman or a dining dominatrix, or is the target of one.

-Dinner Date: one of us has lost a wager to, or been seriously blackmailed by, the other. They arrive to the home of the other to accept thier fate.

-Customer Complaint: at the illegal restaurant Eliza works at, you have a big problem with your order. Either she deals with you in the kitchen, or you overpower her and make yourself a free entree.

-Food Chain: Eliza mostly deals with cannibalism, but animals get hungry to. Eliza either eats or is eaten by a sophisticated anthro, depending on society's heirarchy of humans and furs.

-Starstruck: one of our characters is (in)famous, and the other is in such awe that they can't help but comply with culinary intructions.

-Food Blog: one of us has consented to being cooked and eaten, but haven't quite consented to the entire process being documented and posted on social media. Oh well, too late!

-Crime and Punishment: Eliza is arrested for her crimes and punished by a public hungry for justice. Would be especially exciting with some sort of superhero!
