The gorgons of old are some of the most frightening creatures to have plagued mankind in the ancient depths of history, where the written words were still scarce, and acceptance scarcer. Yet while there certainly were conflicts, the serpentine creatures were not given much of a chance to represent their point of view. Born with bodies half-human and half snake, blending into society was not quite a thing they could do, yet their physique was often not built for solitary life in the wild. Their powers relied on empathy and seduction, rather than black magic as some would claim. Yes, they could turn others into stone should they wish to... but how good is stone for eating?

Different gorgons adapted differently to the world surrounding them... though the 'adaptation' was not something they voluntarily chose. Some turned out to be the hideous monsters humans would have them be, and lure would be heroes to use as prey, often ambushing or ensorceling them into helplessness. Others, however, were given gifts of beauty and charm rivaling that of Aphrodite, to make up for their scaled lower bodies. And third, well... some would say they pulled the short stick, others that the short stick was the best. Such was the case of Elinah, whose natural ability turned out to be an ageless body. Not long after turning fourteen, her growth would cease, leaving her in a helpless, yet lovely appearance. Despite her kind, humans could not turn down the gaze of her blue eyes, nor could they resist her kind words. For she was not evil, whatever some would say. A most peaceful being, she would live with human towns, use her magical abilities to help and heal, and in return be allowed a roof over her head and a meal three times a day. For all she knew, she considered herself among the lucky ones of her kind, and spent her life happily...

Fast forward four thousand years later into the present. An ageless body did mean just that. Ageless. Still the charming young lady, she continues her life regardless of wars, strife, technological advancement. More of her kind had adapted and been accepted into society, and she herself was free to move a lot more than before. Of course, new challenges come with time, just as old ones go... who knows what the next day brings?


Powers:
Stone Gaze: Like every gorgon, Elinah can project her inner powers to turn a living creature into stone. She would really rather avoid it if she can, though...
Medicinal Knowledge: Over centuries, she has mastered new and new healing techniques, and adapted her inner abilities to enhance them as well, allowing her to treat most wounds.
Venom: Her venom has two sides: First, it can paralyze most creatures, up to those the size of an elephant with enough dosage. However, she has developed a special property for it. Her venom also acts as both a painkiller and panacea, curing nearly any poison or other venom, disease or virus, as well as rendering her immune to such.

OOC: This character is a sort of experiment. Yes, she will pred, but only in very, very specific circumstances. Do not come to me looking for a quick eating.
