Current Master: Sawyer had stumbled into Pyre's cave, originally intent to capture the Arcanine for a client of his but ended up having second thoughts. Still...one faceplant to the floor later, one of his pokeballs were sent rolling to the big Arcanine's snout and the next second he was caught. They have a strange relationship but Sawyer's earned Pyre's respect by being truthful to his intentions.

Pyre is an Arcanine that's lived the exciting life of a pokemon trainer's partner. He was raised from an egg by a Trainer by the name of Rex Smithy, The grandfather of MaxTheTamer

His early years were his most exciting, traveling between regions and conquring the competitions that were hidden away in each part of the world. He was happy and content. As the years went by, his trainer had decided to settle down and start a family of his own, and thanks to their winnings over the years they managed to retire quite peacefully.

In his older years, around the day of Max's birth, both he and Rex had a premonition that something important would occur around the young boy. As Max's father was bound by the village not to participate in his upbringing, Max had no way to learn how to transform into his digimon form or even tap into the power! With that handicap in mind and knowing the boy would likely take the same adventurous steps as his grandfather, Rex had sealed Pyre away into the Union cave. Hidden behind a room that was walled off by any who would pass through, only those with the ability to read Digimon code would have the right to even step into the Arcanine's new lair. Here, the Arcanine slept and waited for 10 long years. During which time his former trainer had passed without his knowledge until Max finally came to unravel the many mysteries surrounding his life. Pyre's ownership transferred over to his trainer's grandson, where he took to being the youth's master up until he could properly train and take care of himself and his pokemon. He would also be the one to teach the young trainer how to control his digimon powers. Come to this point, Pyre has been set free after his task was completed. He was left to roam the world free for the rest of his years, until old age claims him. Despite this he remains loyal to the boy, and will aid him when their paths cross.


Nowadays, with the seal removed, Pyre often returns to the union cave as it has become habitual, and is always eager for visitors to arrive. Whether those visitors stick around is up to how they set themselves around the large canine as he's not above making a meal out of anyone.

During his Journeying with Max, He had faced death once. And in his dying hour he was granted a gift that would act as a blessing, and at the same time...a curse. The Royal Knight Gallantmon, imparted a piece of himself into the dying canine, and turned him into a half digital being. While it spared him the death that he would have been given, it also gave him psuedo immortality. He will not reform in the shape of a digiegg, but no longer can old age claim his life. If he encounters someone with a digital chromasone like Max, or a half digital being like himself, he can fuse with that individual to create some rather explosive results. With Max it resulted in the creation of WereArcaninemon. An Anthropomorphic Arcanine that exceeds the limitations that Arceus had put on his species, in that form, he is uneligable for official battles.
