Elania is your typical spoiled, privileged, college socialite girl....in a few ways. Yes, she has lived a sheltered life at the family mansion, until her parents sent her out into the world and to college. It just so happened to be a college that her father is a major donor to. So she gets a free ride, cost free, as long as she keeps her grades up. And she may act bubbly and perky and a bit naive, but she has yet to fail a class. It is just her personality.

What does make her stand out, if that she is part of a rich family that are not preds, in a pred dominated society. And her family has been that way for generations. So it gives her a bit of a special standing. Yes, her species is 'prey' in the society, and has to follow the rules (outlined in Ravenholt_University )), but her family is also rich and affluent, and lives in the upper parts of society with the pred species. So that has given her a bit of a special outlook on life.
Yes, she is part of her family's reformer insurance, just like all the well off families and preds. But she is not a pred herself, and having lived at home most of her life until college, she has NEVER been in a pred.
....At least, not until her first week at school on her own. As well as her job after class that she took in order to have some personal spending money beyond her allowance.
