This is Jenna, who was once a normal woman, nothing special to her. She ran a nice little magic shop in the middle of town, and was well respected by most of the city, minus those who were against magic, but they never harrassed her since it was still a legitimate business.
One day however, a group of thieves got together and decided to try to rob from her store. These were not regular thieves either, they were among the top tier of the thieves guild, and had robbed anything from ancient tombs to noble houses, but never had they robbed a place protected by magic. When they came through her shop door at just after midnight, the first of the four was instantly transformed into a frog, his gear all dropped on the floor. The other three, being the thieves they were, did not stop, they kept going. One looted the main shop area while the other two broke into the back storage room. Another spell lay in wait, and the second of the group was transformed, this time into a pair of panties. Again the raid did not stop. The other who went into the backroom saw what she thought was a trapped fairy in a bottle, and thinking she could earn a favor, she released the fairy. Surprise to her, the fairy was actually a happy pet of the mage and a very special fairy, the tiny winged creature was sitting with a very large belly just seconds later, leaving only the thief in the front room. That thief took what she'd collected in the main shop and left, getting stopped a few blocks away by the local guard and subsequently arrested. The goods were returned to Jenna the next day when the shop opened.
What happened to the victims of the thieves you might ask? Well, Jenna collected their gear, and what remained of them, and added them to her own collection. Some of it was magically enchanted stuff from previous burglaries that the group had committed, and she wanted to study the enchantments on them. She thanked her little fairy for doing a good job, and went about her day.
Rumor spread of what had happened, and suddenly, her shop started to get raided much more often, most attacks ending in much the same way, with the groups failing, and Jenna earning more gear and loot herself for their failures, but her shop was gaining notoriety, so much so that the thieve's guild actually posted a bounty for mercenaries and even less lawful 'heroic' groups to attack the shop.
This went on for about a year before Jenna decided to move, well, sort of. She bought a cave out in a forest and made that her primary study, where she did research, but she kept the shop open as well. She hired some locals to operate the store while she was away, and would bring new potions around every weekend for them to sell. The attacks on the shop itself died down after that, as people were more focused on trying to figure out where her new primary residence was, and once they found out, the attacks became even more frequent.
Fast forward a few more years, Jenna now owns the shop, her cave, an interdimensional library, a keep, and a floating castle, all with various defenses and 'loot' dispersed amongst them, but still groups of people attack and try to steal from her regularly. In fact, her notoriety, even though she's truly the victim, has grown so large that kingdoms are hiring small adventure groups to seek her out and try to bring her to 'justice' for defending herself the way she does.
Because of all of this, Jenna has become wary of adventurers, but does love to see visitors, happy to talk with and share knowledge, but if she finds out they are there to steal from her, she becomes very defensive.
Her installed defenses for her various homes:
Shop: Tranformation traps that trigger after closing and before opening each night/morning, the fairy who roams freely through the shop at all times now, and a naga (Cindy) who is friendly and playful (even to obvious thieves) and will try to catch any would be thieves, rather than eat them.
Cave: At the entrance there is an illusion that hides the mouth of the cave, and right behind that is an illusion of a floor that actually hides a giant hole that leads to a slide that goes down to a swarm of goo creatures. Beyond these illusions is a garden of statues, and a gorgon slithers among them. She's nice enough, and actually shy, but she likes adding to the collection.
Interdimensional library: It's actually based in one of the hells, and is defended by lesser devils who signed pacts with Jenna (after she cast a spell to lower their intelligence) and are now in her service til the end of time (Upon which, they gain her soul)
Keep: Goblins and kobolds have setup all through the keep, and oddly enough, she seems to not only have welcomed them, but provided them with decent living conditions and lets them have fun decorating (and rigging) her keep as they choose. Sometimes even she falls for their traps, but is usually released. The treasury of this building is guarded by a dragonborn, and a dragon.
floating castle: Defended by a cloud giant, in fact the castle belongs to said cloud giant, but he enjoys playing games of wit with Jenna, so has permitted her to use his castle as a home and storage place since she doesn't take up much room. This is actually the ultimate defense as he can just will the floor of the castle to be soft and someone can fall right through it, only for it to be re-solidified after they are falling towards the surface of the realm.
She has lots of loot as well, and is always looking to add to her collection of things to study. Do you have something you would like to donate, or have looked at? Bring it on down, she'll welcome you with a cup of tea.
Does she have something you want? You can try to break in and steal it, but you'll likely end up as part of her collection yourself.
Things she does have: Teleportation ring, Staff of true illusions (When she's holding it, she can create any illusion she desires and it becomes physical, though it fades upon release), Insivisibility cloak, crown of ascent (Makes her words almost impossible to resist obeying), boots of silence, socks of allegience (an odd pair of socks, anyone who touches them while they are worn finds the wearer to be very friendly, regardless of wearer's previous actions), Necklace of truth (Rather than making the wearer have to speak the truth, it actually makes whatever the wearer says become truth.) And so much more to come!
Ideas for scenarios!
A friendly guest: You're just a guest to one of her many homes, and nice pleasantries will be had. Possible romance, possible vore, fun for sure.
A new hire: She's looking for new security to help defend her or her many lairs, apply within.
Thief!: You are a thief, or a member of a heroic adventurer's party, here to ruin her day and steal her stuff for your own! (Despite how the profile seems to be built, this is actually my least desired. Following is much preferred!)
Adventure together!: You actually don't want to rob from her, but rather think she'd make a great ally to go investigate some other place and see what bounty lies within!
Got other ideas? hit me up :)
