After a long thorough session of teasing I might have run my course a bit~ Lazy_Dragon ended up taking me up on my offer to feed them and well.. Ask them what happened to me~
Small work in progress, but he's a Nightwing from the Wings of Fire series. Currently using an Anthro pic here, since most prefer anthro.
Dreamwatcher wasn't hatched on the Nightwing volcano, but more hatched under a single full moon in the rainforest, hidden by his father and mother. With the tradition of hatching Nightwings under the moons essentially not being a thing due to certain events they had it hidden that their egg was not where it was supposed to be. He was hatched with only one of the two abilities a Nightwing can get, mind reading.
He was taken back to the Volcano to be raised normally, as if he was hatched there to begin with. A few years later, the eruption would claim the lives of his mother, and his father was torn from the guilt of not being able to save her he would leave the Rain Forest the nightwings were now residing in, leaving the Dreamwatcher there alone. The only thing Dreamwatcher had was the dreamvisitor from the nightwing island, clutching it he would try to continue living normally where he was.
Few months later he met a Seawing named Tide, one of Corals sons, after the Seawing was visiting the rainforest to get some fruit on his journey around Pyrrhia. The two hit it off rather well, even though they were complete opposites, Dreamwatcher being shy and reclusive and Tide being more forward and explorative. "You're kind of weird. But I like it, your patterns remind me of the Midnight sky." was how they came up with the nickname, Midnight.
The two ended up leaving the Rain Forest, taking Dreamwatcher along so the shy Nightwing can actually experience life.
