Dr Isobel Wainwright, 33, is a brilliant scientist. She's trained in biology, chemistry and physics as part of a special task force assembled by the British Government to push science to its limits. There have been a number of unexplained things occur, mysterious and strange goings on. Dr Wainwright was involved in coming up with the plans to help defend the Earth against most of these.
She played an important part during the attempted invasion of the Grathna-Reen, who came to Earth in order to devour humanity, who they had long observed as the tastiest creatures in the galaxy. Dr Wainwright was in charge of communications and bartering with the Grathna leader. Unfortunately when she came aboard his ship to negotiate, he decided to eat her. Whilst in her prison cell as the chef prepared the kitchen for her, she was able to pick the lock to her cell with a hairpin and override the teleport controls to get back to Earth. She helped develop the virus that sent the ships back to their home world, still dreaming about eating delicious humans.
Her current research is on a new miracle serum which would come in useful if ever another invasion attempt is made. The serum is designed so that whoever gets dosed with it will find the idea of eating human flesh disgusting. Hopefully this will stop people trying to eat humans. However the serum is in its very early stages and isn't quite ready yet.
