Everyone's heard about the troubled teen that's a 'rebel without a cause'. Well, the young lamia, Disdemona Halkias is best described as a 'rebel without a clue'. Disdemona really doesn't know what she's rebelling against, just that she hates being told what to do and that she finds the company of most other beings to be at least vaguely unpleasant. 'Dizzy', as her few friends call her, has always had a problem taking orders and is a stubborn and obstinate sort. Unlike most girls that can't stand popular culture, she's not a goth, a hipster, or an intellectual. And while she steadfastly refuses to join any particular group or clique, she is aware, in her more honest moments of introspection, of an acute loneliness that she doesn't know how to cope with. Her problems maintaining her personal identity aren't helped by the fact that humans tend to avoid her because of her species often... exotic diet.
Her parents, on the other hand, have worked out what they hope will be a 'solution' to their 'problematic' daughter. Thus, she has been shipped oversees to the illustrious Primrose_Academy, where they strongly hope that she will meet with others of 'her kind' and find a place to belong. And thus, having found that, they hope that she will calm down and stop wracking up a criminal record before her crimes are more serious then shoplifting candybars and smoking. Naturally, they assume that 'her kind' will be 'other predators', something distinctly lacking in most places... but there are a considerably large number of normal humans in the halls of Primrose, so who knows what the slightly tacticurn, generally sarcastic lamia will get up to. Whatever happens, her year at Primrose is going to be anything but boring!
