Dionaea

Anyone ever notice that the phrase 'mad scientist' doesn't actually imply genius or even average intelligence? Hold onto that thought point when taking into consideration the story of the now diminutive 'being' Venus.

It starts out with something mundane and typical. Dionaea muscipula a.k.a. the venus flytrap, a plant that was Dr. Alan Hajimo had personally favored all of his life. He thought it so unique compared to other plants, so different and savage upon nature's typical depictions of flora and fauna. He thought it was also a plant out of its era. He would fantasize of the epic scales such a plant would have been millenia ago in the more oxygen heavy atmosphere of Earth's past. Of how brutal such a plant could have been to the creatures of that time.

So he genetically modified one with the DNA of his deceased daughter ( whom he may or may not have killed.... ) and a couple dozen other things and produced Venus. A sentient plant. Now if you paid attention earlier, it was mentioned that she is now a 'wee' plant. In her native homeland of Japan, they have a phrase for what she used to be prior to her downfall. She was formerly.... A Kaiju! A terrifically massive being with an insatiable hunger for meat and sunlight! She destroyed Dr. Hajimo's home laboratory, devoured the insane doctor, and went on a rampage that lasted for two days until she was finally plummelled into submission ( and dwindling greatly down in size ) by the simple use of everyday purpose weed killer.

Millions of dollars of wreckage, thousands of lives lost. Annnnd she's gotten off scott free so long as the Japanese government is allowed to experiment and test upon her and she stays enlisted in the JDF as a means of unconviential national defense. Never know when you might want to toss some plant food to her and get a 300 ft. tall guardian to your nation! Sadly, those days aren't very often and leaves poor Venus to do little to nothing. She's renown by those that know her as being a bit slow and dimwitted. ( She is more plant than person after all. ) The government cannot entrust her to be a high functioning member of society nor does she seem to have the attention span necessary for scholastic attempts. So, she is a ward of the state that basks in the sun, eats copious amounts of raw meat, and lives under the intense scrutiny of the military as do all reformed Kaiju in Japan.

... What? You thought she was the only monster girl living in town?

And since it has been asked. She is 4'11" when not Kaiju sized. Obviously.
