Oh dear... I hope these people are more understanding than the last...

Meet Dierdre! The unfortunate result of the union between a succubus and an elf. Naturally, being a half-demon, she's a bit... different, as you can clearly see from her picture. A moderately accomplished alchemist and mage, Dierdre had decided to follow in her mother's footsteps, becoming an adventurer... but, well, she looks rather demonic, and that tends to get only one reaction when she enters anywhere with a sizable population...

Frankly, it's EMBARRASSING, for everyone! She's not a demon, at least not a full demon. Hell, if anyone could tell alignment, she's pretty solidly Neutral Good. By the time this is sorted out, though, the mob's probably at the door.... frankly, she needs to send advance word to anywhere she's headed to, if only so people don't panic and try to kill her! Irritating, to say the least... ah well.

Presently, she's a loner. Not many trust her enough to be part of their party, and those who DO are few and far between... and often evil, at that. Nice to see that everyone has the same misconceptions about her. Hurrah for consistency!

Really, though, it's mostly mages who accept her. Sure, more than a few try to enslave her, thinking her a full demon, but demon-binding rituals have no effect other than irritating her. Same goes for holy symbols, though some of those make her itch a bit.

Really... She's largely immune to the effects of holy articles, fluids, et cetera. She's human enough that they're irritating, at best, never outright painful to her, though some things may cause a dull ache, or lead to an eventual migraine. Dealing with ignorant people, for one, or strong enough faith. Talk about a headache!

A very calm, rational sort with a somewhat shy demeanor, Dierdre is essentially a good person. She's more than willing to help others, often going out of her way to do so, sometimes at her expense, in an attempt to overcome the stigma of her heritage. So far, it's met with limited success.

Standing 5'6, Dierdre is typically clad in simple traveling clothes, favoring skirts to pants, though she'll be the first to admit the latter are more practical in forested areas. She often goes barefoot, though if need be she has a pair of fitted boots, and she tends to carry a small pack full of ingredients used for all sorts of things, and a small alchemy kit. When it comes to combat, she eschews weapons in favor of hand to hand strikes in melee, or evocation at range. Her heritage lends itself well to this, giving her considerably more energy for spellcasting and an innate grasp of the art. As stated, though, she prefers simple shirts, skirts, and pants to such things as flowing robes and dresses, figuring practicality to be more important than anything else.

In addition, she has a pair of gloves, fitted leather with runic symbols on the back. These are an excellent tool, letting her store up to four spells in total for quick use, though thus far she's remained largely unmolested in her travels between cities.

Her parents? Why, Amelie and Abrienda! go figure, eh?
