Aidan Burke is a private detective. Styled after the dashing hero of an old black and white noir film, but even in a city as seedy as this, most of their jobs are more about following unfaithful spouses around taking pictures or tracking down some 'missing' person who's really just avoiding their family or forgot to tell anyone they were going out of town than anything jucier. Long stakeouts fuled by cheap takeout and lots of coffee. Maybe if Aidan's lucky some corp will decide to outsource a job investigating one of their own employees. Those usually pay well at least, sometimes they're even kind of exciting.

Aidan lives in a dingy one bedroom place in an ancient building downtown that happens to do double duty as home and an office. A logo slapped on the door and a big desk dominating the living room. Chipped paint and yellowing tile, but it's home. Rent's too high to justify trying to get an actual office... not to mention the detective has a bad habit of burning any spare cashon alcohol or the latest fancy, dubiously useful gadgetry. Aidan might live in a dump and has next to nothing in their bank account, but hey, that camera drone was worth it. Maybe.

Sometimes Aidan's a superhero too.

Well, no, not really. Superheroes aren't real, though the detective does do some occasional after-hours work. Breaking into places that shouldn't be broken into. Beating up people who probably deserve it. Sometimes doing some pro-bono work helping people out who couldn't afford it otherwise, when Aidan's budget allows it at least. That doesn't make Aidan a saint, those aren't real either, but the detective does what they can. Plus Aidan has this really cool telescoping staff picked up from, uh, a job that the detective smacks around bad dudes with. It's cool.

Aidan's tall, past six feet, pale as a sheet with a smattering of freckles across her face. Smokey grey eyes and pitch black hair, medium longish, styled like the last time anyone tried to comb it the comb lost. Usually dressed in something baggy and a little bit old. Cargo pants, hooded jackets and t-shirts with faded logos, ragged old sneakers. Sometimes a big black backpack to carry supplies for more involved jobs.

Probably not half as confident, cynical or hardboiled as Aidan tries to act, though.
