Desius

It was 25 years ago that Desius was born into the neko clan that inhabits the forests around the Nexus. This adorably small clan of kittens that average from 6-10 inches in height. Skilled in survival (in their natural habitat) and the use of their own energies to perform acts of magic for defense and healing.

Just like her mother and many other women in the tribe she was raised to be a priestess. Taught to channel her power into restorative spells, and protective auras. It was an honor, and also super boring. Which is why the little neko spent all her free time “experimenting” with her powers. Most nights she was locked in her room to the wee hours of the morning. Conjuring objects, working on personal modification and manipulation of her own form. Even trying to modify the spells her elders had taught her.

It wasn't enough. She needed more, and unfortunately nobody in the village was safe to talk to as everything she was doing was blasphemy. Frustrated and facing a life of caring for old temples and the sick. Des decided to leave in the night. Leaving a simple note for her mom and two sister that she was going to explore and find herself. That she hoped to one day return and when she did that they would still accept her for whatever she was.

The first stop on her journey wasn't far. It just so happened that there was a well know area just outside of the woods where all sorts of different creatures gathered and interacted. She'd seen it from afar and heard of it in story but this was it. Now she was actually going to see what it was like for herself. The naive kitten arriving a few day later would set out immediately to meet... well, anyone. Magic users would be ideal, but Des knew so little she just excited to learn. Make new friends, find somewhere to live. She had a lot to do.

The only thing the little priestess didn’t know was that the world was full of all sorts of people both good and bad and there was almost no way of telling which was which until it was too late.

Though Desius is very mature and polite for her age, she is sometimes shy the first time she meets new characters. She usually warms up pretty quickly at the sight of kindess or food.

Magic Ablilites / Studies

Since Priestess are naturally in-tune to their own spiritual energy and that of the life around them, Desius is able to shape and harness power from a variety of places. This gives her the power to perform feats for all the different schools of magic, instead of just one or two. Here are some of the main things she's been working on, but what she can do is only limited to her personal growth as a character.

{Healing Warmth} Complete
By focusing her power to her hands she can make contact with a persons injury and heal them with her spiritual energy. The strange side effect being that the person receiving the healing suddenly feels warm and bubbly. People have compared it to being tipsy or lightly drunk. Nobody is sure why this happens but the effects are stronger depending on the size of the injury and the magic dispelled in healing it.

{Digestion Aura} 35% Mastered
After being eaten for the very first time by a wild animal she managed to teach herself a new trick by modifying one of her tribes protection auras to focus on acid instead of other elements. Though it kept her from being digested it didn't stop the squeezing and grinding of the walls, or the unpleasant experience of having to “ride it out” before she was able to get free and shower. This spell doesn't work perfectly and sometimes she is unable to maintain it. With practice in rps she can get a more complete version of the spell.

{Size Control} 83% Mastered
Part of being a priestess is being able to control yourself first and foremost. So naturally one of the first things she taught herself was how to adjust her own size up to 4 1/2 feet tall. It's something she can do at will and so far she's gotten pretty good at it. With a little more practice she get a complete version of the spell that allows her to hold her different size for an entire day, as well as cast size change on others.

{Feline Form} 75% Mastered
Getting in touch with her feral side. Desius can take on the form of an average house cat. She grows a soft layer of fur the same color as her ears across her entire body. Remaining that way until she changes back or is changed back by other means. Though she is nearly perfect in this shape she will still possess a magic aura that will give her away to other magic users. She is able to speak and perform all of her other spells in this shape. Feline form also grants her a small increase in size. Making her able to reach higher places and get around easier with her enhanced agility. Learning the Complete version of this spell will let her change more freely, conceal her aura, and let her stay in her cat form indefinitely.


{Phasing} 20% Mastered
Pushing her spirit energy away from the center of her chest she can become faded and intangible. For a very short time can pass through soft materials as if she were a ghost, but getting caught between things when it's effects fade could have very bad consequences. This is something Desius had only experimented with one time in an emergency to save someone from a fire. It causes an unstable draw on her energy that weakens her for serveral minutes. This spell will take a ton of practice to complete and there's no telling what will be gained from it at this level of experience.
