The beast lands in the center of the village. The people shy away from him, but at least at first, none run. His wings fold along his back, his scorpion-like tail twitches behind him, and distorted face bears a grin.
Finally, one of the villagers is overcome with fear, and the young man takes off into a run from the manticore. The beast drops to all fours, chasing after the running man. In moments, he's upon him, snarling. The human is pinned below the great beast's hands. "Now that wasn't very bright of you, was it?" the manticore speaks, calmly, before burying his stinger into the man's shoulder.
As the man twitches in pain, the beast's poisons running through his body, the manticore steps back, looking on, pleasure in his eyes. The rest of the village look away, as the great beast begins tearing into the man's flesh, hungrily.

Dar'Rushk is, down to his core, a man-eater. He enjoys what he does, in all ways. That's not to say he is downright cruel, it's more that he works on an entirely different set of ethics than most of us. He's not a mindless killer; he knows what he is doing, and what it's all about. He also knows that most people "taken" here manage to make it back; this fact perhaps comforts him a bit, but he'd really not be overly concerned otherwise.
He's a manticore, from the persian "Manti" (meaning "Man") and "Core" (meaning "to feed.") His name is roughly persian for "Scorpion Lord."
I am now playing this character entirely as the quardapedal form, pictured below...
